So, about the clothes-sharing thing they’ve got going on…
Don’t you love how much it gives away about their friendship?
Example A. Misha wearing Jensen’s shirt at Jib 2018 and his story of how it got to that.
I love how big a topic of conversation that shirt has been between them before it ever even made its way on the stage! To quote Misha:
“This morning, Jensen was, like, hey, here’s that shirt. You wanna borrow that shirt? You can wear it to the convention today. […]Don’t worry, it still has the tags on, it’s fine!”
There’s so much in that sentence!
First: Misha was in Jensen’s room that morning. There’s no way Jensen would walk around with a new shirt, hoping he’d run into Misha, just so he could offer it to him. And while Misha was in Jensen’s room, Jensen was possibly getting dressed or going through his suitcase, since it sounds as though he wasn’t specifically looking for said shirt just so he could show it to Misha.
Second: At some point before that morning they already talked about the shirt, since Jensen had called it ‘that’ shirt.
Third: Jensen thought about Misha’s outfit for the convention and what would look good on him.
Fourth: There’s a real chance Jensen bought that shirt specifically for Misha, since it still had the tags on and he offered it to Misha long before Misha spilled salad dressing all over himself.
Example B: The ChiCon 2018 photo ops
All Sunday, Jensen was wearing a plaid shirt. He wore it during the panels, the J2M photo op and the J2M plus Alex photo op. However, when it was time for the Jensen/Misha photo op, Jensen is wearing a denim shirt. The denim shirt looks suspiciously like one he had at some point handed off to Misha. Misha, meanwhile, is wearing an almost identical denim shirt - same snap buttons, same cut, but different color. Jensen admittedly makes an effort to wear outfits that he hasn’t worn before. The shirt, however, he has been pictured in more than once and the t-shirt he wore underneath is the one he wore on stage at the Jib 2018 concert. So he didn’t pick this outfit just to wear something new. If they made an effort, then to wear something very similar.
I wonder if Jensen and Misha deliberately wore matching shirt - or if Misha brought the denim shirt for Jensen to wear since the clothes-sharing storyline has become a recurring topic in 2018 panels.
During the CW Upfronts, Misha joked about a text chain that was all about the outfits they’d wear. What if they actually do discuss their outfits regularly? And what if that denim shirt is one that Misha and Jensen regularly exchange? How awesome would that be!
I can’t wait for SDCC and fresh Cockles moments! And new/old outfits.
