(slightly) late to the Prime Time party and for Halloween, but nevertheless, a vampire dennis au <3 college age era, heavy on angst and hurt/comfort, partially based on “Humanist Vampire Seeking Consenting Suicidal Person” (2023). first chapter is up with more from both POVs coming soon!
“I don’t know,” he responds, “It’s like you said. I freeze. I can’t just… kill someone, and I don’t know why. I was gonna kill you, but I started to- I felt like I was gonna die, and I felt sick- and, fuck. I don’t know. But if I don’t drink blood, I mean, feed-”
“You die,” the boy fills in the gap. Dennis nods.
“Man,” the boy remarks, his tone sounding heavier now, like Dennis’ predicament has somehow weighed him down even further in the metaphorical hole they’re both currently stuck in, “That’s so much worse. I mean, I feel like dying of hunger sucks so much ass.”
“Pretty much,” he answers.
“What are you gonna do, then?” the boy asks him. And really, honestly, he’s got a feeling the new plan forming in his head is about ten times more bulletproof than the massive failure of just jumping into it last time.
“You got any plans for the rest of the night, Mac?” he asks, and the boy laughs again, a certain ease surrounding him, one that definitely wasn’t there before.
“Good,” Dennis adds, “I think I might know a way we both can get what we want.”
