Hot Girls Wanted - Never-ending Supply

Watched this documentary last night on Netflix after reading a bit about it in the Sunday Times magazine. Very depressing stuff, and not for the squeamish (some of the ‘rougher’ film shoots the girls participate in really turned my stomach). The story focuses on 4 or 5 young ladies who enter the ‘amateur porn business’, and their life during and after their short shelf lives in this dubious industry. The hardest bits to handle aren’t the film shoots or the sleazy and cynical pimps and producers, but the family dynamics and reactions of friends and loved ones once the secrets get out (and like one character says “they WILL find out”). Much like the film ‘Fearless’, where I spent the entire movie dreading the ‘plane crash’ which I knew was eventually going to be shown to us, I spent this entire documentary dreading the point where the main girl eventually breaks the news of what she’s been doing to her Father (and you know its coming). Apparently this has spawned a television series, which unfortunately feels like even more exploitation, so I won’t be checking it out anytime soon.
