We are looking forward to hosting Art Collision: 3 Artists, 3 Perspectives, an exciting show featuring local artists Dan Dunn, Jim Cotts, and Brandon Hallsted. The opening reception is May 15th, from 5 to 9 PM.
Dan Dunn, an Engineering Test Manager at Nelson Irrigation Corporation in Walla Walla since the mid-70’s, paints for the enjoyment and the challenge of capturing a small piece of nature on canvas.
Jim Cotts, whose formal education is in Mathematics and Statistics, is drawn to abstract art. His paintings, which focus on color and pattern, have been greatly influenced by the abstract expressionist painters of the 1950’s and ‘60’s and by the current German artist, Bernard Richter
Brandon Hallsted’s education and experience in engineering and design infuses his artwork with layers of nontraditional elements, producing art that evokes multiple interpretations and paradoxes. . He aims to endow each piece with emotion, skill, attention to detail, individuality, and one-of-a-kind design language that requires thorough reflection and can incite emotional responses both harmonious and conflicting.
