🐠So I’ve been playing Dreamlight Valley lately, and in the midst of simply enjoying the game I can’t help but have my crossover shipping urges provoked. 🪐 Like, imagine if you will…Ariel and Jim living in a village together.

🐠Don’t get me wrong, shipping tendencies aside, I desperately want Treasure Planet to be incorporated into this game. It’s my favorite Disney movie, and I’m tired of it’s existence being completely ignored.

🪐But just like imagine the Jariel capabilities …we’d have Ariel and Jim Hawkins canonically existing in the same universe!

🐠Like, imagine them visiting at the pond. Jim originally going to fish in the peace and quiet, but got distracted by the curious mermaid in the water, pestering him with questions about his home world and his voyages into space.

🪐Imagine them both being equally fond of WALL-E. Jim relating to technological side (and being a bit of loner himself) and Ariel having an equal curiosity and fondness of collecting things most would call mundane.

🐠Imagine WALL-E being the bridge to the two of them. Imagine going on a quest with WALL-E to set the two of them up. (Listen WALL-E’s a hopeless romantic, he’d know what’s up!)

🪐The only problem is that, you know…Eric’s already there, so…

🐠But eh, that’s the curse of being a crossover shipper…Even when their worlds finally connect, canon will stick to it’s guns when it comes romance.

🪐Not gonna stop me from dreaming, though! 😎

Jariel Headcanons

Literally no one asked for this, I just felt like spilling out my Jariel-brain-rot I developed over the years. (This is mostly stuff related to my age-old abandoned fanfiction or like a modern AU)

First off, Friends to lovers. Friends to Lovers. Friends to lovers.

Like, I cannot stress enough how big of a trope this is for them. I’d even argue that they are less of “friends to lovers” and more of “best friends as well as lovers”, if such a thing exists.

Don’t get me wrong, they go through a pining idiots faze for a huge chunk of their relationship. It just as soon as they finally realize and accept their feelings for each other and start being an official couple, their dynamic doesn’t really change.

Like, they are the type of couple where people see them in their ‘just friends’ faze and automatically assume they’re together, and when they eventually do start dating almost no one can tell because they literally act the exact same.

I’ve mentioned in this post that these two love to roast each other, and after all these years I still stand by that.

I imagine Ariel’s style is more to tease and poke fun. You know like poking a stick at his brooding attitude. Being irritating is very amusing to her.

Jim is more of a smart aleck, as we already know. So he relies more on quick remarks than simply being irritating.

This back and forth has them just adore being in each other’s presence. Their playful conversations brings them immense levels of entertainment.

Also I think they just adore each other in general.

Like one of them could just breath and the other would be like: 🥺💕

Jim is more often jealous than Ariel, but he never let’s it get out of control and just becomes grumpy and clingy. Ariel finds it to be extremely adorable and fun to tease him with.

Ariel is rarely jealous, but when she is...it’s not pretty. Now, to be fair she only ever gets that way when someone is obviously making the moves on her man when he is obviously taken. And she never takes it out on Jim. She knows that he has eyes for only her.

Jim often feels like Ariel is “out of his league” (This could go in the og universe where she’s a mermaid princess, or in a modern AU where she’s a rich-kid)

He has always adored her more than anything, but he can’t help but feel she could do so much better.

As soon as Ariel realizes that he’s feeling this way (which in itself isn’t so obvious to spot, because let’s face it, this boy has a tendency to be closed-off) she immediately shuts that shit down.

She’d be like: “You don’t think I know treasure when I see it?! I love you! And whether you like it or not, you have me!”

Jim has to be reminded of this every once in a while, but Ariel is persistent and just as stubborn as he is.

Speaking of stubbornness, these two might adore each other more than any other person the world, but they still have the tendency to butt heads.

But no matter how many times they seem to clash, their fights seemingly dissipate as quickly as they caught on.

They simply cannot remain angry at each other for too long.

I think that’s enough for now, but I have more if anyone’s interested. Or if anyone wants to ask anything more specific, I’ll see if I can answer it to the best of my ability.
