Well, first of all, I appreciate that it wasn’t cheap or too Hollywood-ish. I would literally scream of anger if Jin changed his whole opinion on Dongsoo or anything like that.

I love how Bastard not only gives the reader this awesome thrill but also tries to teach us some wisdom which everyone should now. It makes us shocked but also let us think for a while. Some creators tend to think that their readers are not mature enough to understand some things and they go way too much into boring, stupid cliches. However, Carnby Kim and Youngchan Hwang treat us with all respect. They want us to remember that it’s never too late to reedem ourselves. Children should never be judged beacuse of things someone superior  told them to do. Children are CHILDREN. It would be mad to expect them to fight and to rebel against evil. I bet it would be hard even for most of us who are teenagers and young adults. It was so brave of Jin to start his fight. To risk his own life in the sake of his own freedom and lives of others. Yeah, right, Dongsoo told him in the end that he would never kill his son. But he made his son think he would do it so there’s not really any difference. Jin, used to trying to survive by simply rejecting his free will, managed to win against his father. I guess y’all realize how incredible it is, I just needed to say this.

Forgiveness isn’t weak. It’s actually the most admirable thing Jin did - he forgave Dongsoo. He didn’t kill him. He had moral right to take his father’s life but he didn’t do it. He forgave the man who turned his whole existence into being a tool. Who tried to destroy all the happiness he finally found. Father who intentially killed A FRIEND of his son. Jin decided to spare him. Oh my fucking god. This boy is so strong.

I liked the ending scene but I don’t really think that it should make us think that Dongsoo loved Jin in some obscure way. As I said, he viewed him as a tool and maybe tried to pretend that it wasn’t really like this. But sorry, the story tells the completly different thing. I mentioned before that he killed his son’s friend and this friend’s family. (I MISS MANNY SO MUCH CJDBCEBCFBJ). He wanted to murder the girl loved by his son, he stalked her, he kidnapped her. He obsessively was letting his son gain any physical strange. He never taught his son anything about real life: we can guess it by the fact that Jin in the age of 17 wasn’t even properly sexually educated. He had big flat with expensive furniture but it was so empty, minimalistic - an appartment with no personality.

Jin was a teenager yet his room was so empty, it’s scary.

Maybe Dongsoo wanted to build some kind of relationship with his son but he failed all the way and he has no fucking excuses
