After listening to his song, and seeing him preform it live with Coldplay, I started proper crying. Ugly tears and all. So I knew I needed to painting something to honor this special moment and to say my goodbyes for two years. Chris said about 6 months ago, Jin called him and said “I have to leave the band in December for 2 years and join the army in Korea. I need a song to tell goodbyes to everyone for a little while.” And with that, Chris wrote Astronaut for him. The song and the music video woke so many emotions for me. It’s truly beautiful. I used acrylic paint, sharpies, and Manga black pens to make this. I kept listening to Astronaut and Taylor Swift’s Snow On The Beach while painting this. It helped keep me in the mindset.
