Honestly, fundraisers drained TJ Hammond more than he willingly let on - he used them as a source of entertainment for long enough until he could quietly leave and attend a party of some sort - if TJ didn’t go home with someone for a quick one night stand, then he hadn’t been fucked up enough during the night.
So far, TJ was only just buzzed; he needed to be alert enough to know what was going on, after all, his mother was running for President, and TJ didn’t want to ruin it out in the public eye. Once the family were home, however, that’s when it all came to a head.
TJ twirled, using his boyish charm when greeting those at the fundraiser - one male in particular caught TJ’s attention, but that was nothing new. He might have flirted with him, learned that the guys name was Arthur, and then carried on his way, only sending meaningful glances at the other occasionally (every chance he got, really).
It was as the fundraiser was reaching it’s peak – it’s guests in varying states of drunkenness, and because TJ was high along with many other’s who he’d witnessed snorting lines in the bathrooms, he figured things were going pretty well enough so that he could finally sit down - his thousand dollar shoes pinching his feet.
TJ hadn’t been sat down long, tucked away in a corner, when an unfamiliar but welcome weight settled on his lap. The politician’s son automatically brought his hands to the hips of the male now sitting almost delicately on his lap; he tilted his head, tugging his own lower lip with his teeth before taking the drink offered to him.
“You always hit on the President’s son in such a way?” TJ smirked because he couldn’t even take his own question seriously.

Arthur didn’t want to attend these kind of parties or fundraisers, but he was obligated too. As his company was funding this campaign he needed to represent it and make sure that his face was seen. He didn’t completely agree with the campaign but then again... a fully appropriate president would probably never get in the White House.
He mingled, like he was supposed to do, the head of his board of directors out here somewhere as well, probably keeping an eye on Arthur without him knowing. They were still wary of the new boss, just a kid in their eyes. He was introduced to the son of the president who seemed just a tad tipsy already. Arthur was smiling and polite, but didn’t think further until later in the night.
The blonde wasn’t used to these circles yet, and scoring drugs wasn’t on his to do list of the night... or any other night for that matter. Making sure he wasn’t seen, he did give in to one particular infatuation. “Nope.” Arthur replied to TJ. “But I know a cute guy when I see one... figured I could take my chances.”
