It’s okay one time there was a man who spoke Russian who sat beside me at a coffee shop & he was trying to talk to me but it was difficult because he only knew a few English words so all I could do was smile and nod my head but I really wanted to talk to him 😞😞 He’s was nice & he was asking me about coffee & my ethnicity & I just couldn’t put it to words how to say stuff

oh gosh i can imagine that must’ve been uncomfortable especially if he was just trying to be kind but you couldn’t really have a proper conversation because of the language barrier ahh .. i never know what to do in cases like that i usually just say i don’t understand them in english but it’s always such a shame because even if you wanna talk you just. can’t? last month a lady talked to me and my classmates in german and even tho i used to study the language i don’t remember much and i couldn’t understand anything she was saying which frustrated me to no end lmao

i guess today’s situation felt even more awkward bc we did speak the same language but dialects so different i had major issues with communication .. i couldn’t help but feel bad bc i should’ve understood but couldn’t no matter how hard i tried

1) i’m left handed, and literally every time people see me writing they ask “you’re left-handed??” because of this i never learned how to properly use scissors, so now all my friends and family don’t trust me and always try to cut for me. it’s an ordeal.

2) i have two dogs, korra and nylah. korra is a collie/great pyrenees mix, she’s bad, but i raised her from two months and she’s my baby; i have no idea what kind of dog nylah is, but she’s brindle colored and always looks sad, she pretty much invented the phrase puppy dog eyes.

3) i was in band for 11 years. i did concert and jazz band in middle and high school, as well as eight years of marching band in high school through college. it was the best decision i ever made, and i got to travel a lot and make amazing friends.

4) my grandpa is actually from germany, and so i’ve traveled overseas to europe twice to visit him. i loved it both times i went, and think europe overall is such a beautiful place to live. the u.s. is definitely lacking in a lot of ways compared to over there ghsfjsfj but yeah.

5) i’m in a women’s barbershop chorus!! i’m not that great at singing, but it’s super fun and relaxing, and honestly it’s really cute when i listen to recordings of us sing.

6) i’m a social worker. i graduated from college this past fall, and i’m also going to grad school to do clinical social work. i want to work with the elderly, and am thinking about going into hospice. contrary to popular belief social workers don’t just work with children or child welfare lol!

7) i’m really bad with directions..like, unbelievably bad. i need to use a gps at all times on the road, and even then i usually get lost.

8) milk is my favorite drink. i know there’s a lot of milk antis out there, but i stand by this. i used to drink like…a gallon of milk in a day, but since living on my own i don’t ever really buy milk bc it’s expensive. it’s still my fave tho!

9) i have tattoos. i have an air and fire symbol on the back of my calf near my ankle (my bff @hoebihoeshi has matching earth and water ones); a bass clef with a heartbeat along with the letters MCATDT (a college band thing) on my right ankle, and the words ‘girl almighty’ on my left bicep. i really want to get a bts related tattoo soon with lyrics from ‘sea’ as well.

10) i make A++++ ramen. this is pretty much the only thing i’m really good at making lol. my ramen has chicken added, is slightly sweet with a lot of spice, cheese for days, and a boiled egg on top. it’s a lot of work, but ssoo worth it.
