The sun blazed on your shoulders as you stretched, towering over the sand in your swim trunks and sports bra, muscles flexing naturally with the movement. Lara lounged nearby on a beach towel, beach umbrella shading her face and book in hand, unbothered by your enthusiasm.
“Babe, come in the water,”
you called, voice playful and hopeful.
She didn’t even glance up.
“No thanks. You go. I’m relaxing.”
You blinked.
“By myself?”
“Mm-hmm.”
She said Flipping a page.
You sighed. A dramatic, defeated sigh meant to tug at her heartstrings. It didn’t. She just waved you off with two lazy fingers. Small smile on her lips.
So, sulking like a scolded puppy, you dragged your feet toward the waves. Turning back every 2 steps to see if she was looking at you sulk. She wasn’t.
Time passed. Lara didn’t know how long. Enough for her to read a few more pages and get halfway through her iced drink. But something pulled her attention away; your voice then a giggle. Two, actually. Female. Flirty.
She lifted her head lazily, looking over the top of her sunglasses.
There you were. Standing knee deep in the water, sun glowing golden on your skin, water droplets sliding down the ridges of your abs. And beside you two girls. In tiny bikinis. Giggling. One had a hand on your bicep. The other twirled her hair while smiling up at you.
Lara sat up fully now, her book forgotten. Tossed to the side. Taking a big sip of her drink .
You were smiling, sheepish as ever, probably talking about some dumb thing; waves, fish, sea shells. You didn’t even notice. Of course you didn’t. You were a little slow . You probably thought they just wanted to talk about Jellyfish.
And then one of them touched your abs, she sees you flinch away, you look a little lost now.
That’s when Lara stood. She didn’t rush, didn’t storm. She walked slowly, like a predator in its natural habitat.
You finally noticed her about halfway through her stride. Your smile wider now
“Hey, babe!”
you called out, all proud and clueless
The two girls glanced toward her and faltered immediately under her stare. Shoulders deflated and she can see one of them rolling their eyes.
“Having fun?”
she asked you, voice smooth but with a sharp edge.
“Uh, yeah, I was just telling them some facts about sharks”
Your smile not leaving your face, gosh you were clueless.
Lara stepped into the water without breaking eye contact.
“That so?”
The girls awkwardly peeled away, murmuring half excuses as they disappeared down the shoreline.
You scratched the back of your neck, chuckling nervously.
“Oh no, I wasn’t done telling them about reef sharks”
Lara tilted her head, eyes dragging over your soaked body.
“Thats okay baby, but they weren’t interested in the shark facts, they were flirting with you”
You looked sheepish.
“I wasn’t flirting, I was just being nice.”
She stepped closer, water lapping around her knees.
“I know baby, You wanna play in the water?”
You perked up.
“Yes!”
Her fingers hooked into the waistband of your trunks, yanking you a step closer. She kisses you, soft, but possessive. Her nails trailed down your abs as she pulled back with a smirk.
“Next time you sulk your way into another woman’s arms, I’m drowning you. Got it?”
You nodded dumbly. Grinning.
“Good.”
She finally smiled.
“Now go splash me,”
