Pike Meets Kirk
Captain Pike: Oh look, my other space son has arrived:
I cannot say enough how much I love the fact that they made room for a scene for Kirk and Pike to just interact in.
Pike is looking at Jim's file when he returns to his own universe.
If he adopts Jim Kirk and we get to see Captain Pike showing baby Jim the command ropes I am gonna -
OK, calm down delulu, time to tuck my deluded rabidity about Jim Kirk's cameo in the SNW finale away. I get it might be unlikely, but I genuinely loved seeing Kirk and Pike interact so much. And the more I get to see of Pike as a Captain, the more fond I am of him. The Menagerie RUINS ME NOW. They are quickly becoming my favourite turbo team. Jim has always been (and ever shall be) my favourite Captain, but man oh man has Anson Mount’s Pike shot up the ranks for me fast, too. He’s amazing. He honestly might be my next fave Captain in the franchise after my Iowan farm boy.
They are both great captains and knowing what we know about Pike now, he would be such a stellar, exemplary example for a young Kirk to apprentice under.
ALSO THEY BOTH LOVE HORSE RIDING LET JIM AND PIKE RIDE HORSIES
I guess what I'm trying to say is that
and that I am absolutely feral about Jim Kirk and dad Chris Pike however delusional it may or may not be to even ponder on.
Furthermore I am here to accept that I cannot handle Jim Kirk.
Any Jim Kirk. Take your pick, I'm not OK.

Thanks SNW, for giving us that poignant Pike and Kirk moment. You gave an old fan the sweetest kind of feel-attack. It meant everything to get to see those two great Starship captain’s interact on screen.
