I've of course done paintings of Lily before and recently one of our other dog Charlie and Lily ~ but this one is a little different. About 6 weeks ago she was accidentally clawed in her right eye by a much larger dog ~ very innocently ~ the other dog just lifted her paw as she usually does to play. It was just one of those freak things where it hit exactly wrong and pulled her eye out. We rushed her to the Vet and she had some surgery to put it back in place and they stitched her eye shut and gave us very little hope she'd be able to see out of that eye again. Soon afterward we realized she was bumping into corners and walls and acting like she couldn't see anything at all. At her checkup visit the vet said sometimes when one eye's nerve in the back is damaged it also effects the other eye. He gave us some anti-inflammatory meds and said sometimes that kind of thing gets better over time, but he verified for us that she is blind in both eyes. . As of now ~ after having her stitches out ~ she still can't see a thing but is adapting pretty well considering.
