“come to lunch with me.” she was bored, very bored. even the extra freedom as an actress let her feeling bored. she didn’t need to come to company as often, still considered a trainee (right?) with a few roles under her belt but nothing that would get her stopped in the street. and now, she found herself walking the halls of legacy, stopping once she found someone to annoy for the day.
“i’ll pay but i’m lonely and well that’s pretty much it.” there was nothing more to explain. “i’ll be bored until i have a new job booked.” and when would that come? she wasn’t sure but she’d find out, soon enough. hopefully. “so what do you say?”
it wasn’t her favorite thing. honestly, jihye didn’t mind getting physical but this was on a different level. at some point, she was positive that she managed to get mud in her mouth. but she pushed past it, dragging herself up out of the mud and ignoring the loud laughs around her. she didn’t even focus on her rival, shirting around until she found the pieces. well, all but one and now her focus was getting out of the pool.
her eyes were closed a bit when she felt someone grab her hand and quickly passed her a towel. the first thing she did was wipe her face off so she could thank whoever it was. “you are a life-saver. i don’t know if you know that but you are, thank you!” god, her hair...this was going to be long night. “i don’t think i’ll ever try a mud bath now.”
she was eager to get started with filming. it was another role after-all and no one could take that away from her. she also thought it would a good chance to get to know her fellow co-stars and talk about their characters. right now, she found herself going over her own character profile and checking out the set. she had wanted to get a chance to see it as well. well, it was one of many sets at least.
it’s how she found herself wondering over too jinseo. they were on dream team together but they hadn’t talked much about their promotions. (she was too busy being covered in mud.) so, it was a pleasant surprise finding him here as well. “hey, what’s up.” jihye gave him a grin, “i didn’t realize you be in here as well, i can admit i zero’d in on my character, are you excited?”’
she had to things to do yes, but nothing was very pressing in the moment. which left jihye a little bored. it never really mattered what it was but she liked to have something going on, some type of movement. something to keep her mind going and making sure her hands weren’t idle. that left jihye to stalk the halls until she found someone she could talk too.
it didn’t take long, her eyes settled shinha and she quickly made her way over. popping up behind his locker door just as he closed it. “hey, how are you doing today?” jihye leaned against the locker, “if you’re free for the rest of the day, come hang out with me. i’m feeling a little restless.”
the name was a little plain but she could make it work. that did nothing to dampen her spirit though, she had a role. it was a supporting role but it was a role and that meant she was able to keep busy. lucy park was from texas and jihye knew very little about the state. she had a few ideas but that was all from the media, it also was something she didn't focus on for too long. this was going to be a small rehearsal, just to let them get into the feel of their characters and work on a few scenes.
as a supporting role, she didn't expect but it might be like the kim family, her character got a nice amount of screen time. once she made it into the room, jihye took a seat at the end and dropped her bag next to her, pulling out her script and character information. this seemed like it'd be more of comedic role and she was down for it. slowly, the room filled until everyone was there and soon enough, the reading had started.
she took the chance to interact with people who would be closet to her characters. going over plot lines and connections and how they could make the relationship feel more real once they finally made it in front of the camera. it was fun work through, figuring how she wanted to 'lucy' to interact with the world. how much creative liberties she could take with the small quirks without toeing the line.
by the time it was over though, jihye couldn't wait to really get in front of the camera. yeah, the rehearsal went fine and they needed to do it but acting, the real part of it was what she was looking forward too. soon enough, she'd be able to bring lucy to life.
it had taken her a while to find the girl she was looking for. which was understandable, miso was a very busy girl and jihye didn’t pull busy people away from busy things. and that would change today. today, she was pulling miso away from whoever and they were going to lunch. that was the plan and jihye was determined to see it through. and a little more looking and jihye finally found her in one of the dance practice rooms. “misooooooo.”
she grinned and walked into the room, swinging an arm around the girl. “you’re going to lunch with me and on me.” she wouldn’t give her the chance to say no. “so, the driver has been called and you just need to tell me where you’d like to go, because you are coming with me...even if i have to resort to less favorable methods...like miso-napping.”
“you know.” jihye started, looking at her character information. “i wonder if we kept our names because they had so many legacy people.” though, she didn’t mind it. in fact, it’d make easier when someone called her name. she wouldn’t be listening out for someone's, even if it was a little unoriginal. but there were other things to focus on, like using the hours allotted to work out her character.
“so, tell me...how you feel about your character?” it’d be good to get an idea from the others. “i don’t think my mine was too far from that interview we did.” there were a few twist here and there but jihye felt like it fit. this was a character she could become. “it’s looking like the only way i’ll become a mother is through a drama.” and that was also something she was pretty fine with.
well, jihye didn’t know just what she was going to do but she had an idea. in fact, the first thing she needed to was track him down. and she did, as soon as her eyes settled on him, “jang taesung!” her voice was loud, like she wanted to be. “i need to borrow him for a second.” that was directed to whoever he was speaking too. and she did, pulling him away until there weren’t any eyes on them so she could then pull him by the ear into one of many unused rooms. “really, taesung, i take my eyes off for you for what? two seconds?”
she had raised him to be so much better than this. “treating a girl horribly?” word got around and it finally reached her. “on tv and in front of the staff no-” she cut herself off, crossing her arms. “either way. just what were you thinking?” and she was serious, very serious. “like...did she do you something to you and my anger is misplaced and i need to fight her or something, you must have had some type of reason.” to do what he did.
