when you're putting on a concert but have a really important question
things that happened at the joan jett and the blackhearts concert this evening:
1. got to watch the roadie with the long curly hair set up for awhile. this is the unappreciated dude who kept some drunk frat boy from jumping on joan a couple of years ago. bless him
2. a lesbian elders couple (not that old but honorable and venerated older members of the tribe) had almost front row seats and were SO excited, they were up talking to the bouncers for awhile before the show started. A+ tattoos. i love them. beautiful talented incredible. they were behind me when i left (before boston started OOPS LOL) and asked me where the ubers were and i had to be like ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ but inside i was like I LOVE YOU I HOPE YOU HAVE THE HAPPIEST LIVES
3. hal b. selzer was as charismatic as usual, making funny faces throughout the concert. i LOVE that dude. i think he recognized me!!!?!
what is he up to? also he OWES ME A DANG PICK FROM? THE LAST CONCERT I WAS AT. anyways.
4. i was surrounded by like super old people. i think the dude next to me was literally older than 80. unbelievable.
5. some tiny child ran on stage and was running around for a bit, then sat by kenny on the keyboard????? she made kenny smile!!! unbelievable what a precious child.
6. joan threw a pick in front of the front row and some young Childe with an amazing nicki six hairdo and a mini-Joan leather outfit on was right there and went for it, but some AGING MAN lumbered over and picked it up instead of letting the Childe have it. so joan threw another one right to the Childe and smiled and it was SO SWEEEEEEEET i died!!
7. there was some rock n roll instrumental version of a christmas song?? (cant remember which one) playing at the beginning and it was SO WEIRD!!!!!!!! they also did their little bow to that one grease song. rahhhhh blah blahb lah blahhhhh oh give me braaaaaa la la la laaaa, rock n roll is here to stay!
8. when joan took off her jacket she got some catcalls. mine included.
9. this good natured bouncer was in almost every pic i took tonight. seems like a cool dude.
10. that’s it folks there was nothing super exciting about this one!! stadium venue, 3/10 only hesitatingly recommend. gotta see her at a festival THAT is where the energy is at!
PS BONUS: this happened really close to where i’m working for the next couple of weeks and one of the quite senior members of my team was slightly behind me and i’m POSITIVE he saw me because i was standing/dancing the whole time (no one else did that) and we have a FOUR HOUR MEETING tomorrow morning rip 2 me.
