I haven’t posted anything re: Jed & Katey and I know it’s kind of old news but I wanted to get my thoughts out there.

I am bummed.

Whether they kept their relationship private for contractual / TLC request reasons or because that’s what they wanted personally, it doesn’t matter. They agreed and made clear the decision for privacy and it was grossly violated. I’ll put my personal theory in the tags but the reasoning really doesn’t matter. Their ideology doesn’t matter. An impressively weak password doesn’t matter. A sh*tty thing to do is a sh*tty thing to do.

But also, man can y’all imagine how super fun it would have been if we had confirmation of this relationship via A MARRIAGE ANNOUNCEMENT? This community would have lost its marbles. I can’t stop thinking about what a wild time we would had with that news. Yeah we got a surprise engagement but because of the means we found out, it’s not the same.

I hope whoever originally “hacked” and leaked the news feels really great about their five minutes of Internet brownie points because otherwise there’s truly no winners here.

#my theory is that katey knew she was marrying into a D list celebrity family #and a wanna be politician #her entire married life is going to be in the public eye in some form #so it makes me really sad that if with that information she wanted to keep what she could keep private while she could #and they got impressively far #but that choice was still taken away #and it makes me sad for her mostly #even though we her views also suck #and blah blah blah #she’s still a person #and it’s a messed up situation and probably the exact thing she was wanting to avoid dealing with for as long as possible #Jed can go sit on a cactus and rotate I really dgaf about him #except you know a little bit cuZ .. still a person #and things like this happen and it just reinforces their worldview so hard #literally zero benefits from this #ALSO I don’t blame any bloggers for reposts to tumblr !#it was going to make it over here eventually #jkat
