Like maybe they all get sat down and spoken to about the potential of forming a pack. The company going over how most of the time groups like theirs end up as pack or mates due to the amount of time spend together and how they'll be around each other during the development of their dynamics. That it isn't mandatory or expected but if it happens, then they won't need to hide it.
And it seems so far away. They're basically strangers being told that they might one day be mates. None of them have truly presented yet but there are signs and most people have a good idea by the time it happens.
Sometime between curling up together in too small beds like puppies, living off cheap food, and seeing each other at their best and worst, they start to present.
Seokjin's strong cedar
Yoongi's burning smoke
Namjoon's encompassing pine
Hoseok's steady earth
Taehyung's rich teakwood
Jimin's bold sandelwood
It's not unheard of for so many alphas to present in a pack but it does raise a few eyebrows. Especially as some of the members were sure they would present as betas.
It takes awhile for everyone to get settled, snarling when someone took something that wasn't theirs, growling when they would get in each other's space, silent standoffs when they challenged each other.
And the scent. God, it was a burning forest constantly. The scent of it clinging to everything, the harsh scent of pissed off alpha.
Management makes them sort it out, sit down and figure out the pecking order or fight each other. Whatever needed to be done to get this out of their system.
Jungkook's own unpresented scent of light cream was completely lost in the others scents, the younger reacting to the constant aggression with hightened anxiety and unhappiness.
They come back bruised and tired but their scents settled for the first time and Jungkook promptly bursts into relieved tears.
They get some hate for for not fitting the traditional alpha expectation, too pretty or thin or short. It bothers them, even though dynamics don't have a shape or emotion. It's hard to hear people call them wrong.
The changes are small but they should have noticed them. All of them starting to pile up together to sleep again even though they have the space to spread out now. Rubbing wrists and cheeks against each other when they leave in the morning, scent marking suddenly an everyday thing. There are more locked doors, occasionally one of them disappearing in a rush and coming back more relaxed. All of them politely not calling attention to what obviously happened.
The most obvious are with Jungkook though. The younger insisting on clinging to them and seeking attention. He starts stealing their clothes with the excuse of his being dirty and reacts more strongly to their emotions and scents.
It all comes to a head after a show, a few of the employees lingering too close to the youngest. They keep touching him with a variety of excuses but Jungkook can only pull away so much without calling too much attention to it. It's dark behind the stage and in the dressing rooms, lots of shadows and low lighting. They've got him backed into a corner before he realizes it, comments about how good he was tonight. How pretty he looked all dressed up, how he smelled so good, how he'd love them if he would just let them take him out and that they weren't trying to scare him.
Looking back, Jungkook would agree they were probably more overenthusiastic than threatening but in a dark corner with unknown people talking to him and his body tired from a long show and his pack no where around, it seemed threatening.
The teeth he bares at them don't feel like his, to clunky and sharp but he still pulls his lip back and lets out a growl. It's not the deep rumble of Namjoon's growl or Seokjin's overwhelming snarl or anything like his packs but it makes them pause. Has them eyeing each other and holding their spots instead of continuing towards him.
The hair on his arms and back of his neck is standing up and he's exhausted but he's got all his weight ready to spring forward if needed.
It's kind of a blur after that. One of the strangers stepping closer and Jungkook is letting out a noise he doesn't even know how to explain and before he can even move to defend himself or attack, the room explodes in a forest fire.
He smells his pack, hears them yelling and the sounds of protective and pissed of alphas in growls and snarls. He faintly registers sliding down the wall until he was sitting and kind of just.. tipping over. The floor is cool against his face, he hadn't realized how much his skin was burning. He's tired, so tired. And he tries to stay awake but the adrenaline is wearing off now that he knows his alphas are there and he can't really open his eyes anymore. His body is heavy and the last thing he remembers is the blooming scent of rain and something sweet.
He wakes up a few days later, skin sticky with sweat and body sore. He's curled up under a bunch of blankets, the faintest light seeping through the threads and he stretches out his tired body before working his way out from under the blankets and taking a breath of fresh air.
He smells of rain and honey.
Later he finds out he spent several days in heat, waking a few times in misery before passing back out. First heats are rough, and thankfully it seems he spent most of his unaware. The others hover nervously as he shakily gets up and eats a small bit before going to shower. They make him leave the door unlocked in case he falls and he half expects one of them to demand to come with him.
The world changes very quickly. All of the sudden the alphas are acting like alphas. They insist on being close to Jungkook, are territorial at shows and events where there are too many people around, they have a mantra of minepackmine playing on repeat in their head.
Jungkook blooms under it though, happy with the affection and the first time he purrs when they play with his hair startling all of them. After that he's purring with them all the time, letting out sleepy greeting trills in the morning, seeking them out when he's nervous or wanting attention.
The switch from pack to mates is effortless.
They spoil each other other constantly. Taking advantage of the money they have to make sure they buy the best for the pack. The best food, the nicest clothes, anything they could need.
They find a place with a nesting room, a space specifically made for omegas. It's a room with a slightly lower ceiling and nothing sticking out of the walls except some hooks higher up to hang things from. The shelves are in the walls so they can't be bumped into and there's a little bathroom connected that has the basics and a big tub.
Jungkook loves it. He layers the floor in mattresses before he covers it all with blankets and clothes and pillows. He hangs sheets to create a canopy type covering and string lights that are easier on the eyes.
There's enough space around the edge to move without messing up the nest and to get to the bathroom and door as needed.
The bathroom is stocked with large, lush pillows and a variety of expensive soaps and oils. A pretty box of bathbombs and soft clothes are tucked in the side cabinet.
They get bracelets for each other, heavy and beautiful things that are loved dearly. Jungkook gets a collar. Actually a lot of collars. Stunning ones that he wears for shows and events, heavy silver and gold with diamonds and peals. He gets a traditional soft leather one that he wears everyday. His favorites though are the ones for home. He has several of those, some of them made up completely of lace and ribbon and some collars for sleeping that are made of soft cloth. They all have the ability to have accessories attached such as tags or bells. They aren't necessarily needed as proof of intent to claim with all of the dark marks Jungkook has nipped and sucked into his neck and all the way up to under his jaw, but they like it.
There are still bad days. Like days when interviewers ask Jungkook about birthing hips or how big he was for an omega, and he shuts himself in the bathroom for the night. The whole space smelling like sad omega and upset alphas.
When the alphas get comments on being too passive and they spend a few days being extra demanding before being brought back to reality.
Days where heats or ruts throw off their schedule and it's a mess until they get back on track.
But they wouldn't trade it for anything.
I just think it's fun to imagine all the ways it could go.
