— Wildflowers Cafe

after the owner of the diner june had found a home at told her he was finally closing the doors, june thought she was going to have to start all over again.  but when one door closes, another one opens...at least that’s what they say, right?  after she had already managed the place for a few years and finally settled in a place on her own, june grabbed the opportunity she was presented with and decided to buy the place from him.  he gave her a great deal for her years of work, and she gave him her word that she’d always serve his favorite apple fritters on her menu.  he passed far too shortly after and fred’s fritters are still on her menu in honor of the man who gave her a chance she never saw coming.

the name wildflowers was taken from the song by the same name.  it’s a song that held a special place in her heart for many years, and it just seemed right for the place she was at in her life.  along with the usual delicious local roasted coffee and fresh baked goods, june also offers an assortment of fresh flowers from a local florist along with art from local artists that lines her walls.  flowers are restocked every three days and there’s always an assortment of new arrangements around the space.  most items in her shop were locally made and sourced, and are also often for sale with all profits going to those wonderful folks as well. she wants wildflowers to feel like a home away from home for those who need it.

                             when a flower grows wild it can always survive.                                     wildflowers don't care where they grow.

a little further down the road from harper's inn you'll find the cozy little wildflowers cafe, june's small bakery and coffee shop! all items are freshly made by june, with most of the recipes either passed down or created by june herself. the coffee beans are locally roasted and she makes a hell of a cup of coffee. if you're hangry, wildflowers is sure to cure you.
