What is JLPT test and How to apply for JLPT test in India?
Before explaining the registration process for JLPT in India, let's first explain What is JLPT?
The JLPT Stands For “Japanese-Language Proficiency Test” organized by the Japan Educational Exchange and Services (JEES) to set benchmarks and certify you on your learning proficiency of the Japanese language.
You may ask – is it possible to take the JLPT test in India? The answer is yes, now you can take this test in India and the process for the same is quite easy. Let us take a look at the steps involved:
The JLPT is held twice a year in the New Delhi center in India.
It comprises 5 levels between N5-N1, with N5 being the easiest and progressing in the difficulty level towards the N1.
It is valid for life and is recognized all over the world.
The test takes place in July and December respectively.
Online applications for the July slot starts in May and applications for the December slot starts in August. Applications are considered on a first-come-first-serve basis, so make sure to apply for your JLPT test as soon as you can.
JLPT centers in India can be found in the cities- Mumbai, Pune, Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru, and Shantiniketan (West Bengal).
Registration fees for the JLPT come up to INR 1,500 (inclusive of taxes).
