Hello to a bunch of draw overs/ edits of a new Steven Universe AU. It’s called “Just Like your mother” or (JLYM). It’s not fully set in stone on what happens and what each character looks like yet. The AU is basically the whole “Steven is raised by the diamonds” but in my version he’s much more nice
AU desc (11/21/2019): set in more modern times, pink ran away to earth shortly after she got it (set in more modern times). Instead of causing the rebellion, she took a stand and did not do anything to continue her colony. But after that was ineffective she decided to create Steven, whom was raised by his dad (presumably Gregg) till he was about 13 when the diamonds came after him. The diamonds decided to leave earth alone till pink (Steven) “learned his lesson” on how to rule a colony (similar to why they decided not to take pinks colony after she was “shattered”). With the manners his dad gave him, he makes friends with gems he is “not supposed to” and eventually starts making gems caus their own rebellion after he defended garnet (not to get rid of him, but to stand by him)
For spinel, I imagined her being abandoned by pink like in cannon, but Steven shortly after finds her again (a couple hundred years after pink abandoned her). Being distraught by being abandoned by her old bestfriend, spinel self poofs and reforms, not like her toxic self in the movie, but more like a person that was dumped by fake friends. She becomes friends with Steven after a pep-talk and joins the rebellion, covering for Steven when he decides to help the gems with the rebellion
