It’s been exactly a year since my sister introduced me to the wonderful YouTube channel ‘The Princess and the Scrivener’ ( @princessmscrivener here on Tumblr!) They cover “intersectional feminism, Disney, pop culture critiques, and more!” (to quote their Tumblr description) I’ve interacted with both Paige/”The Princess” and Sarah/”The Scrivener” (Paige on Tumblr, Sarah on Twitter), and they’re two absolutely lovely human beings, who I really respect and admire. They make me want to be a better feminist, and a better person.

Can’t believe it’s been a year already! Here’s to many more, from your proud 532nd subscriber, (Yep, I made a note of it)

6. A film you wish you hadn’t watched?

The Belko Experiment hands down. It’s really heartless imo and I really wish Dany was the final girl instead of the typical white dude whose name I forgot. Delete it from my brain omg. 

10. What’s your favourite movie director? 

I immediately thought of Ron Clements and John Musker since I enjoy their films. 

16. A film you love but everyone else hates?

I mean, I don’t love Frozen, it’s not even in my top 10 Disney movies, but I like it. I like it just the same as the other Disney movies (except maybe Chicken Little, throw that whole movie away) and I feel like people are hating it now just because it seems cool and edgy to hate it rather than critiquing it or saying you just weren’t feeling it. I remember growing up, my older cousins hated The Lion King because at the time it was everywhere and every movie that followed it kept being compared to it. Does Disney need to calm the fuck down? Yeah, but they see it as a cash cow so obviously it’s gonna be everywhere like Shrek, Pixar, Star Wars, and the Jurassic franchise (which seems to be on everything lately at least where I live). I still enjoy watching it during the winter season.
