Musings/ rambling
A few conversations from the show have stuck with me and this is one of them:
🐰: I'm sorry. I wanted to make you an authentic Italian Carbonara but the cheese is too salty...
🐥: No worries. I'm just honoured to have your food.
In the grand scheme of things, it was a throwaway conversation that still left a mark on me.
Firstly, unless I am recalling wrong, Jimin never actually specified the kind of pasta he wanted. He was up for anything. And Jungkook being the sweetheart that he is, decided to make him one of the famous Italian dishes.
Although Carbonara is a simple dish, getting it perfect is an art in itself because sometimes the simplest dishes are the hardest to get right. He could have gone for sauce and pasta, that's easy enough but he went with this dish. Based on having witnessed JK cook, we know why. My guy doesn't do anything by half.
Secondly, as it sometimes happens, things can and do go wrong as they did in this case. Jungkook kept apologising for his failure to coax his dream dish into fruition. And Jimin didn't care, he was just grateful that JK cooked for him and told him as much.
It's this conversation that just highlights how Jikook and BTS as a whole manage to work. The selflessness, the humbleness, the ability to empathise with the other, the motivation to go an extra mile just to make the other happy and the ability to not sweat the small stuff and just be grateful for what you have been given.
I don't know if my thoughts make sense but I thought this conversation was just beautiful and perfectly highlighted who they are as human beings.
It brought to mind Jin's quote "What If he flings it? Then he flings it" You can always try and make it perfect next time but for now, it's okay that you tried and am proud you did.
On a lighter note, it's ridiculous to me how weeks later this still manages to pop in my head and make me chuckle:
🐥 Jungkook-ah, Jungkook-ah
🐰 cheese cheese cheese
I miss these two goofballs.
As you were.
