Eighty-two degrees is the perfect temperature for lying out. August’s ninety-degree weather made for miserable sunbathing, and May’s seventies felt nice, but usually resulted in burned skin, unready for the sun’s rays after a long winter and rainy spring. She found the perfect bathing suit in June, covering just enough skin to not be indecent and easy enough to untie to avoid tan lines around her neck. Despite the moving truck outside the neighbor’s house two weeks ago, she ventured out into her backyard with a water bottle and book in hand, coated in tanning oil that smelled of a beach she hadn’t stepped foot on in four years.
Thirty minutes into her quiet meditation, lost in the pages of her novel to the point of nearly nodding off, a sweet and chipper voice came from over her fence.
“Hello there, neighbor.”
Setting her book aside, she shielded her eyes to see who was talking to her. An attractive girl with black hair and skin already dark enough to not burn peeked over the fence, barely clearing the five foot tall boards.
“Hi. You guys just moved in, huh?”
“Yeah. If you don’t mind, I’d like to skip the small talk and pretend like we’ve known each other forever. That okay with you?”
She nodded.
“Well, in that case, while it looks like you’re having quite the amazing day, it also looks like you’re going to burn in about twenty minutes. Are you wearing baby oil?”
Sitting up, she looked at her skin still slightly slick but drying fast. “Just a little tanning oil.”
“Sweetheart you’re too fair for that. Mind if I join you? That is, if you break out some SPF 100 for yourself.”
“Come on over. I’ll be right back.” She went inside, returning after she found some sunblock. Clicking it open, she squeezed out a little cream and dabbed her nose. Her pint-sized new friend pulled over a patio chair.
“Here, hand me your towel.”
She gave her a towel and sat mystified as her neighbor rubbed the remaining oil off of her skin. Moving her long blonde hair to the side, she bit her bottom lip as she heard the squelch of sunblock and felt hands rubbing it onto her shoulders and back. Her body tensed and she held back a smile as delicate hands ran over her shoulders and arms, not quitting until her skin had drunk up all the lotion. The bottle tapped her arm.
“I assume you can get your chest and stomach?”
A wave of confidence overwhelmed her. “I don’t know, you’re pretty good at this,” she said with a smile.
“Don’t tempt me, Blondie,” she said with an evil grin. “It’s a nice day today. If it’s like this tomorrow, maybe I’ll come bug you again.” She settled into the chair, throwing a smirk and a sideways glance to her host from behind her sunglasses.
Eighty-two degrees was definitely the perfect temperature to go lie out in the backyard. Hopefully the forecast for the next day called for a repeat.

Main pairing: Ruby/Jo
8,114 words, rated nc17
Summary: It’s all bullshit now, her ideas about hunting, about life and romance and honor. Knowing that is Jo’s first step.
Review: Interesting idea! I would have loved to see this developed more - as it is, you kind of wonder how Jo got to where she is, why she’s doing what she’s doing. Ruby can read Jo’s mind, and that soured me a little, but that’s just personal preference. I love the OC in this.

Chapter one- Introductions
Dean was hopelessly in love, with an ANGEL how did that happen who knows ? But it happened; he accepted a long time ago it would never happen. He tried at every given opportunity to take his mind off Cas, with girls (and guys secretly). This had earned him the reputation of a manwhore in every town they went. Cas didn’t like it in the slightest but Dean was straight and not his boyfriend (unfortunately) so he had no authority over him. Dean always tried to hid the fact that he liked Cas by bringing a new girl by every time he met up with Cas.
This week it was Rose a Latina babe with warm brown eyes and long black hair. She is caring, intelligent, and a hard worker and hopes to become a doctor some day. Dean felt disgusted with himself that he could stoop this low to make Cas jealous. (He would never be jealous; he didn't like him but you can't say he wasn't a tryer.) Dean was pulled back to the real world when he heard Rose call him from the motel kitchen to help her clean the dishes. It was taco night tonight and no restaurant could make better tacos than Rose. I will miss those tacos thought Dean but I can’t keep using Rose or her taco making skills.
How was he going to do it this time; no relationship should go over 2 weeks (it was a rule) and it's approaching that time 2 more days to go he needed to act quickly. maybe Sam would find a case, then he wouldn't have to lie?!? Who was he kidding.
------------------Sabriel----------------
For Sam it was getting harder to live like this pretending to be someone she was not. Yes SHE said she; Sam was trans she wasn't a guy at all she had just been trapped in this body for so long and has to stick with it. If she wants to keep her boyfriend and brother that is. All Sam wanted was to be the gender she was inside, out i this awful wrong-pronoun shell. When she was younger she didn't understand but his dad taught her it was wrong to be girly and it stuck for a while until she went to uni. When jess had first met him she asked what pronouns she preferred and she blurted out 'FEMALE'. She laughed as Sam fell in love. Oh how she wished she was still alive. Sam shook her head no i love Gabriel.. i just miss being myself...
For Gabriel it was also getting harder he felt so bad about not having sex with Sam they, had been dating for 2 months for fucks sake. Why was he like this 'asexual'. He keeps getting told it's okay by his tumblr followers and he knows it is. Its just whenever it comes to sex he just has no sex drive. He has heard some people are repulsed by sex, some have sex drives and hate romance and some are not interested until they are friends. There is an endless spectrum from having a sex drive and being asexual; it's so complicated!
--------------------JoXRuby------------------
Jo knows what she has gotten herself into and she won’t back down. “It doesn’t matter what the hunters think.. What my mom thinks...” Jo murmured while passing a beer bottle to Ruby and plopping down beside her on the couch. “ All that matters is that you love me and that I love you.” A moment of awkward silence passed, making the wait even longer before Ruby spoke. “ It’s just that people like you aren’t supposed to hangout with never mind be in a relationship with things like me.” Jo moved forward putting an arm around Ruby's shoulders. "Please don't refer to yourself as a thing you're just as human as me.” “ All we have to do is convince mom that you are a nice person and hopefully she will accept us as we are. If not it’s tough luck… No matter what I will never leave you Ruby.. I will never.."
Ruby stopped Jo babbling by softly kissing her; to Jo it felt like time had stopped and that moment was the birth of something new. Suddenly Ruby looked behind and Jo followed her gaze. Her mother stood at the door her arms folded and a scowl plastered on her face and could never be rubbed off. Jo looked her mom in the eyes and kissed Ruby again.
----------------BobbyXCrowley-----------------
He couldn't stop thinking about that bloody king of hell. The way his beard scuffed against his cheek the way their lips fitted perfectly together. GOSH HE WAS SUCH AN IDJIT. How had he fallen for the king of hell. He took another swig of whiskey. "You shouldn't be drinking that rubbish, it will kill you..." Taken aback by the sudden appearance he dropped the bottle and downed the remaining contents of the glass leaving a burning sensation in his throat "Bloody hell Crowley" He shouted. "Pleasure to see you too, anyhow not here to chat" Crowley advanced on him…
Special Agent Jo Harvelle is assigned the case of a vicious serial killer who’s targeting college girls.
Jess Moore is the third victim and Ruby Cortese’s roommate. Because the two of them had an argument the day before and because Ruby also knew the other girls, she is now the main suspect. Jo believes Ruby is innocent and tries her best to prove it.
Ruby crowds in on Jo, pushing her into the toilet stall and slamming the door shut behind them. She flicks the lock to make sure no-one stumbles in on them, knowing full well what it would do for their reputation. She pushes the blonde up against the wall of the stall, hands on her waist and fingers digging into her skin.
'Why do we need to keep doing this again?' Jo gasps as Ruby's lips descend on her neck, sucking and biting a bruise into her skin, that Jo's going to have to blame on her non-existent boyfriend. 'Why don't we just tell everyone?'
'You and I,' Ruby declares as she pulls back from Jo's neck, dislodging her lips from the soft skin, 'have a reputation to keep up. We are famed for our deep, unadulterated loathing for each other. If it comes out that we are, in fact, dating, the school will rule it off as nothing more than the classic picking-on-someone-because-you-have-a-crush-on-them routine. I don't want that. I want to be a legend amongst the pupils.'
Ruby's hands slide up and down Jo's side, pushing and pulling her tank top will each glide, fingers revelling in the soft skin that they brush up against.
'We'll be off to college at the end of this year, and we'll never see those losers again. We can be a couple then. But right now, I want to go through our last year with the same hatred we started school with. Even if it is just pretend now.'
Ruby gives Jo a grin, full lips pulling into a wide smirk as she watches confusion spread across her girlfriend's face. She gives Jo a second more with her thoughts, before she presses her lips to Jo's in a harsh kiss, pushing her even further into the wall.
When they finally pull apart, they're both breathing heavily, lips red and swollen from the ferocity of their kiss, and Jo can't help but wonder if some of that loathing still bubbles under the surface, despite the fact they trade "I love you" more often than "I hate you" nowadays.
As usual, Ruby is the first to recover and she presses a soft peck to Jo's lips, before she sends her a wink.
'See you after school, babe.' Ruby declares, before she unlocks the bathroom stall and saunters out.
And when Jo appears a moment later, she spots Ruby with her friends Meg, Bela and Abaddon and before she goes to join Tracy and Anna, she calls, 'I thought I smelled your distinct aroma of cat piss in there, Cortese.'
