Happy Joan Appreciation Day!

Joan is ... So thoughtful, understanding, respectful, caring, talented, funny, witty, passionate, intelligent, hardworking, creative and I can count so much more. They are so brilliant. Their words are always so well thought or humorous (or both) and they inspire me to do better. Better about doing the things I love, better about staying true to myself, better about loving and respecting myself and others, which is the thing I need most in my life at the moment. Some of the words they say make me laugh, some make me smile, some make me think, some make my day and I know I’m not the only one. They might not realize this, because they’re just being their amazing selfs but I just... I appreciate them so much. I’m so, so glad I got to follow some of the sweetest and inspiring people I know, starting from Thomas years ago and continuing with Joan and others. I mean, last year the only thing they wanted for this day was us treating it as a day of self-care and trying to be nice to ourselves. Even that says something. (which I’m doing it, I promise, I even prepared myself a good old hot chocolate just now!)

Everyone has flaws, everyone makes mistakes, no one is perfect but I think the important thing is ‘trying’ while considering others. I’m not gonna say ‘trying to be a good person’ or something like that because that term is subjective and that could be a whole debate by itself but... Trying to whatever you wanna achieve in life? I don’t know, I have so many things in my mind. What I’m trying to say is that they might not be perfect but Joan’s words influenced and helped so many people and I- I admire them just for simply... being themselves, I guess? WORDS. ARE. TOUGH. and perhaps I don’t have to thank for anything buuut I’ll do it anyway! So Joan,

Thank you for sharing (well, at least some parts of) your personality with us, thank you for sharing your talent, thank you for being open and honest about topics that are hard to talk for many people, thank you for working so hard with Thomas and the team, thank you for doing everything you do and overall just... thank you for everything. Thank you for being you. 🧡
