One of the most common complaints we hear about digital filmmaking—particularly with streaming movies—is that everything looks the same.
It absolutely has. Then you add the excess amounts of CGI and it looks like a videogame. This is why nothing compares to older movies and those made up until the early 2000's. Take Fast and Furious for example. When the first two came out, it was up in your face racing and just about no CGI. Teh film makers captured the LA vibe with the skies and smog and actually put you in that world. By the time the fourth one came out in 2009, especially at the end, the crew trying to break Dom off the prison buss looked so terrible. Green screens and CGI for effectss are one thing, but to make entire scenes is insane. With digital film there's barely any room for good cinematography.
