I really hate how apathetic and detached the portrayal of Maryse is towards Jace. She loved him as one of her own and she would have never said “he’s not your blood.” She was tough on him sure and she wasn’t as smothering given Jace’s discomfort with affection (like some other Herondale boy) but she would have done anything to help him be redeemed. And wtf was Jocelyn trying to kill him?!?!?!? She mourned him! She would never!
