y'know it's funny, I was reading that meta you reblogged about Kingsman. Maybe it's because I wasn't super focused and was watching it on the plane, but I really did not see this deep emotional connection between harry and eggsy. Harry really did vanish and kin dof get forgotten, and I didn't think he was super emotionally important to eggsy, who from the beginning was really focused on himself and changing himself. I guess this is a case where my shipping goggles really did not engage at all XD
Yeah, I saw it in a theater-sized auditorium with just me and a friend and I very much noticed all the gay-like jokes (popping cherries, My Fair Lady, all the “my boy”s) so that’s how I read it.
I mean, it’s not a particularly well written movie by all means anyway xD

9: What is the longest fic you’ve ever read?
Fuck it, this is embarrassing, I can’t believe this is my fucking answer. It was a Wincest fic, The Bright Lights of Disturbia. God. It’s nearly 400k words of twisted dark rapey incesty ridiculous disturbingness. I blitzed through it early in my fandom days because right after I started working at the theater I got really really really ill and I was still recovering from ACL repair surgery and I didn’t move for a couple weeks and it was GRATUITOUS DEAN WHUMP AND I AM SO FUCKING WEAK FOR DEAN WHUMP. I say that fic because it’s the only one of the top-length fics on AO3 that I actually sat down and read all the way through, beginning to end. Of the others, I have started Out of the Deep, Angel’s Wild, and the Redemption Road arc, but I had a hard time getting into all of them. I’m told they’re worth it, so maybe I should go back? If only so that I can say that the longest fic I ever finished wasn’t fuckin disturbing as all HELL Wincest.

44: How fluffy is too fluffy?
I need some meat in my fluff. Like. A sheep. Woolly on the outside with a STRONG MEATY SKELETON within. I think it’s easy for me to get bleeeh’d by fluff, but honestly, if there’s enough angst counterbalancing it, I can put up with a LOT of fluff. A lot. It’s like the scales of fanfic justice. Tying into the last question–I LOVE fluff when I feel like it’s earned. I’ve been known to bury my face in my hands and squirm over domestic destiel fic, no problem. But if it is just 100% kids and happy sunshine and cotton candy throughout, I have a hard time really appreciating it. It’s funny, because to a certain extent, I don’t have as hard of a time in the SPN fandom with lil fluffy bits or pure fluff short fic? And I think that’s in part because the source is so tragic that it constitutes the meat and I seek out fanfic to counterbalance that shit myself. It’s all a balancing act. Scales of fanfic justice.
