ok but shane hollander as a concept is so terrifyiiiiing i can’t take it he survived hockey and he didn’t even know hockey was a thing to survive

there's a chapter in this book im reading in which the mom is trying everything she can to get her kid to eat his food because she's inhaled childrearing studies and parenting books and she wants to Do Everything Right but her kid is autistic as fuck and he will only eat the mac and cheese so she takes him to the grocery store all wrapped up to her chest bc maybe if he's involved in the decision making he'll eat his food except he starts screaming and crying in front of everyone and she can't calm him down nothing's working and some woman comes up to her and says, "you're unraveling", and for a moment she feels so Seen but turns out the woman's talking about the cloth wrap around her kid
anyways she goes home, the problem unsolved, and then one day her husband takes a picture of the food their kid won't eat, shows the kid the picture, and then the kid eats the food. the kid eats the broccoli he eats the mash and her husband is like oh by the way he only eats something he thinks is ugly. he doesn't want to ruin the food by eating it but if you give him a picture, he'll eat the food. sorry i figured this out last week and forgot to tell you. see you later tonight! and that was the moment she realized they weren't soulmates anymore and their love story stopped being infinite.

he was in the closet with another closeted man who was being openly, disgustingly homophobic at work and was encouraged to behave that way by work (not to mention the violence inherent in the sport, injuring each other, ending people’s careers for a chance at the cup)
adrian must’ve had so much self doubt, this filming project was probably the first time he felt supported by anyone anywhere, to do a complete 180 on his feelings about being out and proud and not giving a damn about the consequences because he knows he can survive it
