Last week or so I spent a good few days falling back in love with traditional art, and so I decided to fill an entire page with colored pencils
Only one of these drawings is almost fully done with markers and it's the only one from way back in 2021, while all the others (except for Aliara's jacket) are color pencils
The background's all washi tapes!
I'm really proud of how this looks, so I'm including a few close ups of some of the drawings that I really really liked, as well as some credits under the cut!
The grumpus with the pink fur, blue hair and purple hat is Parstel, who belongs to @hyper-fixator !
The blue gal with the ponytail is Jerejamlie, who belongs to @soulthefunnyman !
The purple gal with blonde hair is a fanart for Holly Hollowtones back in 2021! It's the only drawing that was already old, while all the others were recently made earlier this month
We had a contest over on discord and had to create some fansnax, so I made mine based of the giraffe weevil and roll cakes!
As you can see, there are two variants for this little guy, you can check out more about them under the ReadMore!
Both variants of these creatures can be found either in Flavor Falls or Sugarpine Woods, but rather one of them belonging to a specific area, it depends on how you find them!
Matcha Sweevils are always found underneath trees, camouflaged as simply crumpled up leaves. The moment you touch them, they'll start running, so you have to be quick to active the snaktrap before it climbs to hide inside a tree.
Meanwhile, Choco Sweevils are slightly harder to spot. If you stand long enough underneath a tree and make enough movement, you'll scare the creatures on top and they'll backflip down to try and escape towards the next tree nearby.
Both can be caught with the snakgrappler as well, all you have to do is be fast enough to catch it on time.
While matcha sweevils are based on the way giraffe weevils will adapt and roll an entire leaf to lay one egg in it before dropping it and leave it to hatch, xhoco sweevils are based on how these bugs tend to jump off trees when they're startled!
Frankley has tried time and time again to teach their Spuddy, Zackarine, about love, compassion and respect. But all of their attempts so far, even aided by the journalist, have crashed and led them nowhere.
As exhausting as it has been, they're confident their last plan must work. If Zack only listens to violence, surely he will listen to them if they show him who’s the strongest around, right?
And what better way to prove it than battling the strongest snak they can think of...
A bit on Frankley’s last quest! You can find a reference for the boss monster, its minions and more details about the gameplay under the ReadMore!
First (You’re here!) - Next
It’s time to fight the
Beefy Beetlepepper
"This beefy bugsnak tries to chase down and squirt sauce at any intruders. Maybe there’s a way to weight it down?”
As the name implies, this snak is the combination of a stuffed pepper and a color-changing beetle (Charidotella Egregia).
As you, Frankley and Zackarine enter the cave, constant chirping echoes through the walls. A small pepper slice runs away from you and approaches a big figure in the distance. It grumbles, and you see it gulfing down... an entire hot sauce plant?
It turns around at the small snak, and becomes aware of your presence. Just like any other snak, it does not have a mouth, but the giant hole holding nothing but sauce at the end could easily be seen as one.
It roars, a dozen of the pepper slices crashing against each other as they try to clear a path so they don’t get stomped, and the creature launches itself against you.
Frankley rushes to collect as many sauce pods as they can to provide to you, but you have to be quick to use them if you don’t want them to be thrown right back at you!
After a few moments, you notice how the giant pepper is slowly changing color. You stare, intrigued...
And your eyes open wide as the now yellow-colored snak is throwing away all your hard work with the sauce you used, along with pepper seeds.
As you shoot more sauce into its maw, you realize hot sauce is getting you nowhere: it keeps on shooting it right back at you no matter what you do. But it’s yellow exterior does remind you of a certain sauce you have in your packpack, so you reach for cheese sauce instead and... success! The snak, although it’s still trying to crush you to pieces, seems to be accepting of this alternative.
In the meantime, the seeds on the ground start to morph and take shape into the creatures you saw skittering around.
Babeetle Peppers surround you. Although harmless, these creatures are pesky and will get on your way... Unless you find a good use for them. Perhaps the slinger can continue to be useful here? The Beefy Beetlepepper won’t accept them on their own, but you still have lots of sauce pods left to try...

Aaaand that’s the gist of it! I could go on on details about the gameplay and the area, but that’s plenty of info for now 💛
Now! You know how the end of every sidequest goes, right? Perhaps it’s time to find out how it all goes down after the boss is dealt with... 👀👀👀
