I don't think they are going to pair Colt with Anna. I just find Anna odd ever since the whole Jacob thingy... O.o Maybe they would pair him up with that girl Rebecca? I can't see Colt and Anna together just too weird.

... Rebecca? I'm assuming she's introduced in the first part of the side story? (NA player here sorry; I use my mum's iPhone so I can't buy the episodes.)

I'm not saying that they'll be good together-- it's just a possibility that they'll be assigned as partners. Or like Anders makes Anna show Colt the ropes since she's been such a good cop for such a long time (ha... ha...) and pretty much knows how to do things.

What would be interesting, though, is if Colt finds out about Anna's involvement with Jacob's cartel through working with her. The only person who was close to her at work before was Joe, and he might have turned an unknowing blind eye to some of Anna's suspicious activities since he trusts and admires her so much. Colt is different.

*shrugs* I don't know either, man. I'm just saying that it's a possibility.

Adding to the Bartaugh love, remember that episode in Volume 12 when Mal was asking Joe about what the neighbors said and he was all bumbling and flipping notes? Well I take great pleasure in the fact that now HE gets to ask the officers questions :)

Yes! Oh my god now all the rookie cops will be calling him "sir" and "Detective Bartaugh", and they'll be scrambling to impress him!

You know what I really want though? For there to be a short scene in which the rest of the team finds out that Joe has reached detective ranking. And it'd be cute and happy, with Mal clapping him on the back and Natara congratulating him (and Joe blushing) and Blaise punching him in the arm and grinning and whatnot.

So much potential for further Joe cuteness!

I'm really pumped for this omg :D Joe is just such a sweetheart, and I can't wait to see him strolling through the halls of the precinct as a detective now.

And that means we'll be seeing more of him (hopefully) since he'll be doing proper detective work on bigger cases! Ugh I'm just so proud bby like my heart grew 10 sizes when he said he passed the exam

Can we just do some serious Joe Bartaugh discussion right now because I'm suddenly having a lot of feelings about him.

Like this dude is a freaking good cop. Despite everything that's going on around him, he still maintains his pretty A+ personality and his determination to keep the streets crime-free.

He's also surrounded by the best in the city-- Mal and Nat, the dream team; Blaise and Jeremy, cheekbones and successful missions; Amy Chen, literal genius computer whiz; and even Kai, the weird but kind of really brilliant lab tech. Even Anna's super brave and hardworking (and a fundamentally good person, even though she's a "corrupt cop"). Joe's never jealous of any of their successes, and respects and looks up to them.

And he knows that he'll never be as good as them, but he's not bitter about it. Being with people like Mal, Blaise, and Jeremy has raised the bar for what it takes to be a detective, and Joe didn't believe he was capable. In comparison to the main team's smarts and heroics, he's only satisfactory, and even a bit thick. I call this the Anderson Syndrome, where a character is, on their own, fantastic at what they do-- but when they are put in comparison to someone who's the best at a similar job, then their brilliance fades and they will be seen as more stupid than they actually are.

Anyways... back to Joe. He didn't think he had it in him to be a detective, so he didn't try. Nobody else (not even us players) really thought he had it in him either, so they were (pleasantly) surprised when it turns out that he did all along.

And he's going one of the best San Francisco's ever seen. Even if they doesn't seem that obvious.

I also feel like there's a good life lesson in here somewhere... something about not underestimating yourself and striving to achieve greatness, despite all these people who might seem better than you idk

TL;DR: I really like Joe Bartaugh let's not kill him please and thank CoD Team.
