Walking to and from school together everyday,
Virginia and her friends had grown close over the seasons.
“Come on, Joe Ray, come with us to the lighthouse!!!!!!!” Rose was an easily excitable girl with seemingly endless energy.
“I apologize, m’ladies, but I must be running home to work now.” Joe Ray was a sweet and shy boy, and a diligent rule follower.
“Oh fine, run off then.”
“Goodbye, chump.”
The girls watched him go and sighed dreamily. The years had done made Joe Ray even cuter, and strengthened their girlhood infatuation with him.
But like always, the silly girls never let their shared affections come between them, choosing to tease it off instead.
“Oh, Stop drooling, Juliette.” teased Virginia.
“You’re the one drooling, Rosaline!” quipped Rose.
“Oh please!” They laughed, and wandered to the lighthouse to smoke.
