hes just a chill low energy guy that loves acting obtuse to piss people off lmao. dude acts very detached but in reality he cares way too much. he was also a victim of the galaxy print trend 😔

in 1999, at 20 years old, dude was going delirious in a random rice field in the philippines. then he bumped into mater, who was trying to tip over a kalabaw. the two quickly became friends and became pen pals :]

then, in 2017, he bought a random can of gas at a convenience store and ended up winning the grand prize in a raffle. the grand prize? a date with chick hicks (who joel didnt know cuz dude doesnt care about sports at all). after intentionally annoying the hell out of each other on their date, the two started hanging out as friends. eventually they became QPPs and kept their relationship open

a few months later, joel & chick went to a dinner party for retired piston cup racers and thats where joel first met strip weathers (and fell in-love at first sight lol). btw joel, chick, strip, and lynda are in a polycule :>
