Joe Nichols – The Impossible
Joe Nichols – The Impossible
Call 1-855-637-4055 for our Psychic line as low as 66¢/min lyrics: My dad chased monsters from the dark, He checked underneath my bed. An’ he could lift me with one arm, Way up over top his head. He could loosen rusty bolts With a quick turn of his wrench. He pulled splinters from his hand, And never even flinched. In thirteen years I’d never seen him cry, But the day that grandpa died, I realized: Unsinkable ships sink. Unbreakable walls break. Sometimes the things you think would never happen, Happen just like that. Unbendable steel bends. If the fury of the wind is unstoppable, I’ve learned to never underestimate, The impossible An’ then there was my junior year, Billy had a brand new car. It was late, the road was wet, I guess the curve was just too sharp. I walked away without a scratch. They brought the helicopter in. Billy couldn’t feel his legs. They said he’d never walk again. But Billy said he would an’ his mom and daddy prayed, An’ the day we graduated, he stood up to say: Unsinkable ships sink. Unbreakable walls break. Sometimes the things you think would never happen, Happen just like that. Unbendable steel bends. If the fury of the wind is unstoppable, I’ve learned to never underestimate, The impossible So don’t tell me that it’s over. Don’t give up on you and me. ‘Cause there’s no such thing as hopeless, If you believe: Unsinkable ships sink. Unbreakable walls break. Sometimes the things you think would never happen, Happen just like that. Unbendable steel bends. If the fury of the wind is unstoppable, I’ve learned to never underestimate, The impossible About Joe Nichols: Joseph “Joe” Edward Nichols (born November 26, 1976) is an American country music artist. Watch Joe Nichols’ Hilarious ‘Baby Got Back’ Cover Video
Hardly anything can outshine the classics, such as Joe Nichols’ hits “Sunny and 75″ and “Yeah.” But there comes a special day when a country artist such as Nichols decides to cover a popular hit originally created by a rap star and somehow completely nails it. Nichols took on a country cover of one of the most memorable hip-hop songs of all time, “Baby Got Back.” The country star added a healthy dose of country flair to Sir Mix A Lot’s 90s smash hit and you’ve got to hear it.
The video for the country version includes Sir Mix A Lot himself seeking a variety of bands that could cover “Baby Got Back” for him. However, the other contestants didn’t stand a chance. Nichols and his squad rocked the socks off of Sir Mix A Lot, evident by the many nods of approval coming from the rapper/producer while Nichols “auditioned.”
Watch the music video below to see Nichols’ surprising and wonderful cover. We promise, you won’t be disappointed!
Nichols has been known to add Sir Mix A Lot’s booty shaking anthem into his live sets, changing up the tempo to give it a swing feel. So it was just a matter of time before an official release of his take on “Baby Got Back” came alive. The entertaining music video comes just after Nichols latest album, Never Gets Old, released in late July. “Baby Got Back” is on the album, and also has a cameo from comedian Darren Knight, who many call “The Southern Momma.” We may be unsure how Sir Mix A Lot and Joe Nichols hooked up for this rambunctious remix, but we’re sure glad they did.
While the record includes the rap cover, the album is still classic Joe Nichols. Nichols explains he “tried to round this album out with what my first album was like — traditional country, what got me started, what I love, what I’m passionate about. I think it finished out well. I’m really proud of how country the label allowed me to be.” No wonder it’s one of our MegaPicks for July.
