Today someone told me ai art is real art… their logic was “art is about expression and feeling not what you have down on paper” or something. I need a minute.

Ai is not creative. It is not human. If there is a robot intermediary between yourself and the final product, realize in the process the potential art has been dehumanized, fed and filtered through a machine that cannot understand what any of it means, spat out again as a probability. That all ai art is. It breaks down your prompt into little bits (tokens), converts the into numbers to process it, and predicts what you want for the outcome based on odds. there is not a single trace of you on it when it’s through.
your execution of the idea may look less flawless or polished (I am using air quotes) than the bot’s, but at least it’s yours.
