May 23, 1983 -- Astronauts Robert Crippen, John Fabian, Fred Hauck, and Sally Ride take a break from training simulations at NASA’s Johnson Space Center.

29 years ago today, the first flight of the TFNG class kicked off with STS-7 as Challenger launched from Pad 39A at the Kennedy Space Center on June 18, 1983. Most notably, Sally Ride made history as the first American woman to go into space.
The STS-7 in-flight crew photo, which should be re-titled "How the hell does Bob Crippen keep that fabulous tan?"
