Rep. Victoria Spartz (R-IN-05) is one of a dwindling number of Republican House members to hold town hall meetings with constituents. The one she held on Friday in a suburb of Indianapolis went about as you would expect.

Less daring than Rep. Spartz is Rep. John James (R-MI-10). Like most House Republicans, Rep. James is hiding from his constituents. So Sen. Chris Murphy (D-CT) and Rep. Maxwell Frost (D-FL-10) are holding a town hall in Michigan's 10th so that James's constituents will be able to voice their concerns to elected officials in the federal government.

Republican congressman from Michigan won’t meet with voters—so Dems are doing it for him 

Murphy and Frost are intelligent and energetic speakers. They are worth catching in Warren, Michigan on Saturday if you live in the area.

also I kind maybe misgendered them in my last few posts about them (was under the impression they were gender fluid and went by both he/she, but apparently it’s only they/them so im gonna fix that soon)

but shed gave me a field day coming up with his lore

so im thinking of shed and 1x4 as siblings/twins (specifically)

they both share the telamon wings and stuff

shed hides his with (jazz hands) magic, I guess, and his avatar items (such as the oil canister and the crown)

1x4 ripped out his (their?) wings and was left bleeding for days

shed still holds telamon properties, and the only one who has a hunch about this is chance (the blind one 💀)

but basically shed is just normal shed/telamon (obviously with the emotional trauma and everything) and he loves his wife very much though he can’t currently see her because the spectre (i dislike the spectre)

Marjorie Taylor Greene and other Republicans attack transgender rights on RNC opening night

Multiple speakers took swipes at the LGBTQ+ community in the convention's opening day.

In one of the first prime-time speeches at the Republican National Convention, Georgia U.S. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene attacked transgender people. Celebrating the renomination of Donald Trump as the GOP nominee for president, the anti-LGBTQ+ lawmaker signaled a shift away from recognizing transgender identities if Republicans regain power. “Let me state this clearly, there are only two genders,” Greene said to cheers in Milwaukee, “and we are made in God’s image, amen. And we won't shy away from speaking that simple truth ever.”

The comments were among the more incendiary remarks on the same day the party adopted a platform for 2024 that softened some prior anti-LGBTQ rhetoric but prominently adopted anti-trans rhetoric. Multiple speakers took swipes at the community in the convention's opening day. In the evening's first major speech, Wisconsin Sen. Ron Johnson referenced Democrats' "fringe agenda includes biological males competing against girls and the sexualization and indoctrination of our children.”

Later, Michigan Rep. John James alleged, "Our daughters were sold on hope, and now they’re being forced on the playing fields and changing rooms of biological males." There is no evidence trans youth have an advantage in sports over their cisgender peers. Transgender student-athletes have different body types just as cisgender student-athletes. Genetics and training can affect how trans students play as well as if the student is on puberty blockers as part of their gender-affirming care. [...] But she quickly shifted into a screed of accusations and bigotry, including accusing President Joe Biden of scheduling recognition of transgender people for a Christian holiday. “They promised unity and delivered division. They promised peace and brought war,” Greene said of Democrats. “They promised normalcy and gave us transgender visibility day on Easter Sunday.”

At the RNC’s 1st night, speakers such as Marjorie Taylor Greene and John James indulged in spreading anti-trans lies and hate, with MTG mentioning the fake outrage about TDOV coinciding with Easter.
