Frankenstein’s Monster’s Monster, Frankenstein Trailer

Netflix’s tagline for Frankenstein’s Monster’s Monster, Frankenstein reads, “When actor David Harbour finds lost footage of his father's disastrous televised stage play of a literary classic, he uncovers shocking family secrets.” Harbour plays himself and his “father” as he uncovers “found footage” of the play. The mockumentary is written by John Levenstein and is directed by Daniel Gray Longino.

Whether you’ve jump on board for the podcast John Levenstein’s Retirement Party over at Earwolf already or not (and perhaps you should if you want to hear great, insider stories from the Arrested Development/Kroll Show/Silicon Valley/Portlandia writer/actor/producer along with co-host Mary Kobayashi), they’ll be doing what seems to be a pretty grand live ep. at UCB Franklin near the end of the month featuring the likes of Jon Daly, Tim Heidecker, Sara Watkins, Lauren Lapkus, Jon Gabrus and former HBO President Sue Naegle as guests. 

In fact, Gabrus and Lapkus will also be reading a scene from the 90s made-for-TV movie Bunk Bed Brothers.

And the timing hasn't worked out yet, but I really want to get John Mulaney to play a young man on [Kroll Show] because so far he's only played an old man, so it would be more impressive if we also could see him playing a young man.

"The older I get, the more I feel like I'm not as concerned as I was when I was younger with the specific joke as I am with setting up the preconditions for actors to be free to do their best work. I think it's partly because I have the luxury of working with good improvisers — especially Nick, but also Jon Daly, Jenny Slate, Chelsea Peretti, Jason Mantzoukas, John Mulaney — these people are all great improvisers where we give them scripts and I like the scripts, but it's about something bigger happening in the dynamic of the scene."
