Camp Counselors - John “Maz” Mazetti
a/n: i went with maz for this bc i’m still soft for him :) but should i do another one of these with vinnie, dells, or zapata??
•••
Your summers were usually spent being a part of summer baseball leagues since your dad was a coach for one. You were in charge of the drinks, snacks, and equipment during a one-week sleep-away baseball camp for incoming or returning players for the team he coached.
Thankfully, a couple other coaches had daughters around your age, so you were never really alone. Then, there were the guy counselors. Including Maz, your friend from college. The kids constantly teased the counselors, as usual, about dating and liking one another and all that. This year was no different.
It was the second day there, and the kids, who are around middle-school age ranging from eleven to thirteen, continued to tease Maz about you two. They always saw you talking and laughing with one another, since most of them have been at the camp before, so they know you and Maz.
“You like her, don’t you?” One of the younger boys asks Maz. He was standing in the dugout, helping each player get ready before going up to bat.
“What?” He turns to the boy who asked.
“You wanna date (Y/N),” another kid steps in. Maz shakes his head and chuckles.
“No. She’s just a friend.”
“Are you sure?” All of a sudden, every kid in the dugout is surrounding their counselor with interest.
“Yeah. We’ve known each other for four years.”
“But have you had a girlfriend since you met her?”
“Yes, I have,” Maz replies.
“Has she had a boyfriend?”
“Yeah, we’ve dated other people. Because we’re not dating. We’re allowed to do that, you know.”
“But you so like her.”
“Also you two would look so cute together.” Maz gives up and shrugs.
“Fine. I may like her. But it’s nothing serious. She’s sweet, she’s cute, she’s funny, it would be stupid not to like her.” The boys begin to mess with Maz now that they know. “But that doesn’t matter. You guys are here to learn about baseball and better yourselves, not pry into the counselor’s love lifes.”
A break is called soon after and everyone heads over to the table that you are standing behind. You were finishing setting out cups of water, bags of chips, cookies, and other snacks for everyone. Maz grabs a bag of chips and water and comes to stand with you behind the table.
“How are they doing?” You ask, taking a sip of your own water bottle.
“Pretty good. The new kids are struggling just a little, but they’re getting used to it.”
“That’s great. It seems like they’re having fun, though.”
“Oh, they’re having tons of fun.”
A couple days later, you and Maz are sitting together in the dining hall, enjoying dinner and chatting. The rest of the team was spread across a long picnic table just a few feet away. As you are taking another bite of your chicken, two boys come up and stand in front of you and Maz.
“Hey Tyler and Kendall, what’s up?” Maz questions. They look between you, then between each other, and finally, back at you.
“Are you guys dating?” Confused, you look to Maz, but he avoids your gaze by looking down at his lap, a look of embarrassment on his face.
“Come on guys. Really? Go finish your dinner.” They run off and Maz continues to eat his food.
“What was that about?” You ask. John just shrugs and looks up at you.
“They think because we talk and hang out, we must be dating. They’re boys, it’s the only thing on their minds,” he chuckles awkwardly. You drop the subject and focus back on your dinner.
As the sun begins to set, the boys all decide they want to have a campfire and make some s’mores. So, the adults begin a fire in the fire pit while everyone takes a seat on the logs around. You sat next to your friend Eliza, the daughter of another coach. Maz sat on the opposite side, surrounded by a few of the boys he bonded with the most.
You and Eliza make a couple s’mores before she heads back to the cabins, wanting to turn in early for the night. That left you alone, staring at the fire and the sunset. After a little while, you start to shiver due to the wind that was starting to pick up with the dimming sky. You had forgotten your hoodie in your cabin, and it was too far of a walk there and back.
“Dude, she’s sitting all alone, shivering with no jacket. Now’s your time to make a move!” Tyler pushes Maz playfully. Maz just smiles and casts his eyes down.
“Guys, stop. I already told you, you need to stop trying to get us together. If we want to date, we will. But we’re fine with being friends.”
“You can still go over there and cuddle up as friends.” Maz ignores them, though he wants nothing more than to give you the blanket he has.
Maz thinks to himself for a while before he suddenly stands and makes his way over to you. The guys are quiet, watching their counselor’s actions and smiling.
“Hey,” Maz greets you, “cold?” You nod in response and he is quick to take a seat next to you, draping one side of the blanket over your body. A smile spreads across your face as warmth takes over your body, curling up beside your close friend.
“Thank you. I forgot to bring my hoodie and I didn’t want to walk back to my cabin.”
“No problem. It’s a pretty big blanket, I don’t mind sharing.” Just then, all of the boys on the other side of the fire begin to hoot and holler at you two, clapping and cheering happily once they finally see that you’re getting closer and closer.
“Alright Jaybirds! Back to your cabins!” Your dad shouts, standing to guide the boys back to the cabins. You wave bye to your dad and within a few seconds, you and Maz are the only ones left, besides one person cleaning up the trash. But he soon finishes, finally leaving you two alone.
“You know,” he softly says, “the team keeps teasing me and bugging me about you.” You sit up a little and look up at him.
“What about me?” He gazes right into your eyes, the fire making them look even more beautiful.
“I like you,” he whispers. “I’ve liked you for about a year now, but I never wanted to act on it because I wasn’t sure if you felt the same.”
“They forced you to admit you like me?” You smirk. He nods, a little embarrassed at the fact that tween boys basically peer pressured him into admitting it.
“Yeah.”
“Be thankful they gave you the courage, otherwise it would’ve stayed a secret that I like you as well.” His entire face lights up at your words and he wraps his arm around your shoulders, pulling you even closer.
“So, would you like to go out sometime?” He asks shyly. Smiling, you lean up and press a single, soft kiss to his lips, answering his question.
“I’d love to. Go on and tell the boys that you scored the girl.” Maz laughs kisses your forehead.
“I finally did, didn’t I?”
i have an undrafted fic *book* in my drafts with i shit you not 196,162 words and i laugh upon realising no one but me will ever read it
wearing his clothes - undrafted
a/n: another one :) if you have any ideas for these, send them in! i’m gonna try to do the same ones i’ve done in the past (like cuddles, first times, proposals, etc)

maz
- you spent the night with maz the day before he had a game. but he had to be there early, at around seven in the morning for practice, so he left you sleeping, knowing that you’d be there later on.
around ten, you are dressed and ready to go. but something catches your eye before you leave maz’s room: his extra jersey. reaching for it, you make sure it doesn’t smell, and thankfully, it’s clean. so, you slide it onto your shoulders, leaving it unbuttoned to show your black tank top underneath.
the girlfriends of the guys on the team each had their own jerseys with their partner’s name and number on it, just to show support for the ones they love, but you never had the chance to get one, since you and maz met after the season started.
“nice jersey!” barone’s girlfriend says as you approach the bleachers. she’s wearing her own d-backs jersey with barone’s number on it as well.
“i stole maz’s extra jersey, technically i don’t have one.”
“you don’t have one yet. you’ll get one next season, most definitely.”
you pay attention to the game, clapping for maz when he gets up to bat. he hears your cheers right away and smiles when he sees that you’re here. he notices that you’re wearing something bright red, but he can’t make out what it is from that far away.
once the game is over, he runs right over to you, after gathering his things. that’s when he finally sees the jersey. a huge smile slowly spreads across his lips.
“well, what is this, huh?” he teases, wrapping his arms around your waist, looking down at the jersey on your body.
“just thought i would support my amazing boyfriend. i found it as i was leaving, it was clean, so i chose to wear it.”
“you look so fucking cute in it, i can’t explain.”
“is it because it’s yours, or just the fact that i look good in jerseys?” you tease. he chuckles and kisses you sweetly.
“little bit of both. mainly because it has my name and number on the back, so people know that you’re my girlfriend.”
“and proud of it. nice home run earlier.”
“i heard you cheering for me, don’t worry.” you giggle as maz continues to stare at your body, loving how his clothes look on you.
“what do you say we head back to my place and you can show me how much you love me in this jersey?” you wink and smirk slyly.
“only if you’ll wear this and only this?” his voice lowers so no one else can hear. your heart quickens and excitement flows through you.
“deal.”
dells
- dells’ parents were having some fancy dinner with a couple of their friends, and they also invited you. so, you dressed in a nice, simple yet classy white dress. you knew it was a risk, since there was going to be wine, but you figured you would be fine, for the most part.
but of course, the worst happens.
you and dells were having a conversation during dinner at the table. but, someone asked dells to pass the bottle of wine in front of him. not paying much attention, his arm knocks your wine glass over and spills it all over the table and your dress.
gasping, you stand and try to wipe it away immediately, but you knew it was no use.
“shit, babe! i am so sorry!” dells shouts, also trying to get rid of the stain.
“johnathan, it’s not going to come out,” his mother says, rubbing your back comfortingly.
“come here,” he sighs, grabbing your hand and dragging you upstairs. you can tell he feels bad, but you weren’t upset; it was your own fault for wearing a daring color around red wine.
“here,” he throws you a ratty old t-shirt, “i’ll take your dress and try to get the stain out.” you slip your dress off and pull his shirt on, leaving you pantsless for the time being.
“dells, it’s fine. the dress is ruined, i don’t care,” you say as you hand him the item.
“i feel awful. this is a huge stain,” he groans, taking a seat on the bed.
“don’t be. i should have worn something else. dinner parties always include spilled wine, so it was a disaster waiting to happen.” he chuckles as you sit next to him.
“to make you feel better, you looked fucking sexy in this,” he whispers in your ear.
“too bad i can’t wear it anymore,” you whisper back, giggling at his reaction.
“i’m gonna bring our plates up so you don’t have to go back downstairs in just a ratty t-shirt,” he announces.
he returns with both of your plates, he ended up getting you a new one because of the wine that spilled onto yours, and he opted out for glasses of water this time.
“honestly, i enjoy this much more than the party downstairs,” you say after taking a bite of your food.
“me too. i get you all to myself, in my bed, in my shirt, with no pants on,” he smirks, kissing your lips cheekily.
“did you happen to spill the wine on purpose?” you wonder, teasing him even more.
“you know i didn’t! i hate that i ruined your dress!”
“i know, dells! i’m messing with you. i know you didn’t mean to.”
“good. but, i don’t mind that it happened.”
zapata
- you and your roommate got into a huge fight, which led to her kicking you out without allowing you to collect your stuff; you only had a chance to grab your keys and your phone. with no place to go, you drove to the only person you could trust: your friend chris.
you softly knock on his door, worried that he possibly has a girl or friends over. but to your surprise, he answers right away, dressed in lazy clothes.
“what’s up, (y/n)? it’s close to midnight.”
“do you mind if i stay here for a couple days?” you shyly ask. chris’s eyes soften and he nods, stepping aside to let you in.
“do you want to tell me what happened?” he asks, bringing you to the couch. you nod and begin to tell him all about the fight that you and your friend got into, leading to her kicking you out for good.
“you are more than welcome to stay here for as long as you like,” he says, grabbing your hand.
“thank you. i hate to be a bother, but i have nowhere else to go.”
“you’re not a bother, hun. it’s okay. i don’t want you sleeping on the streets.”
“i could drive back home, four hours away.”
“no no, don’t do that. i want you here.” his voice is so caring and sweet, you can’t help but see him in a different way, a more loving way.
“thanks again. um, i hate to ask, but can i borrow some clothes to sleep in? she kicked me out before i could even grab any of my stuff.”
“yeah, come here.” he guides you upstairs and into his room, which was surprisingly cleaner than usual.
“you want a pair of sweat or shorts?” he asks.
“sweats, please.” he picks out a t-shirt and pants, then leaves the room so you can change.
“do you have an extra cover and pillow? you ask once chris comes back in.
“for what?” he sounds confused.
“for the couch?”
“no, you take my bed.”
“zap, i’m fine on-”
“i’m not gonna allow it, nuh uh. you’ve gone through a lot in the past few hours, there’s no way you’re sleeping on that small ass couch.” you’re too tired to fight back so you crawl under the covers.
“you can sleep here as well, chris,” you tell him, patting the bed for him to join you. he smiles and joins you. as soon as he settles in, you cuddle up right next to him.
“thank you for letting me stay,” you murmur, nuzzling your face in his neck. he laughs quietly and slides his hand around your waist, under his shirt.
“i think you look absolutely adorable in my shirt,” he whispers, “and i’d love to see you in them more in the future.”
“what are you saying, zap?” he hesitates for a few minutes, his hands shaking against your skin.
“i want you to be my girlfriend.”
innocent stares - undrafted
a/n: as i said, i know that my undrafted fics aren’t that popular and that the fandom is kinda dead, but i really like writing for them :) especially maz, aaron is so fucking adorable ugh. also let me know if you’d like me to include palacco and barone in future ones :)

maz
- you were finally in your new home after an amazing honeymoon with your new husband, john. the feeling of being married was so amazing, knowing that you two were going to be together for the rest of your lives.
you spent the first day sleeping off the jet lag, cuddled up in bed. you two woke up right before dinner.
“maz?” you quietly call out. he groans and slowly starts to wake up, his eyes batting open. he smiles sweetly and pulls you closer.
“hm?”
“can we make some dinner? i haven’t eaten since we got home.”
“yeah. just five more minutes.” so, you lay there for just a little bit longer before you get up and head downstairs.
you decide to make some pasta with chicken and veggies so you get started on prepping the veggies while maz starts the pasta and chicken. once everything is ready, you stand off to the side as maz stirs the pasta in the boiling water.
you lean against the counter and watch your husband work, staring for maybe a little too long. he turns around and catches your gaze, smirking when he realizes what you were doing.
“take a picture, babe,” he jokes. you blush and look away from him, embarrassed.
“don’t be shy, baby.”
“i just couldn’t help but come to terms with the fact that this is my life now. waking up with you, making dinner together, everything.”
“it’s the same kind of stuff that we were doing while living together, before we got married,” he says, turning back around.
“i know,” you move to hug him from behind, resting your head between his shoulders. “but we’re married now. it feels different, a good different.” he chuckles and turns around, wrapping you in his arms.
“i get what you’re saying. it does feel nice, doesn’t it?” he presses a kiss to your forehead and sways you side to side.
“i love you, mrs. mazetti.”
dells
- dells invited you over for his family’s usual friday movie night. they were watching one of your favorite movies, so he thought why not invite you, seeing as his family loved you a lot anyways.
“hey,” he greets you with a kiss when you arrive, letting you in. “we’re just about to start, my mom is finishing up the popcorn.” you take a seat on the empty couch, saying hello to ty, who was on the floor, leaning against the couch. dells sat down next to you and pulled you close to him.
“oh, hi (y/n), i didn’t hear you come in,” dells’ mom says as she steps into the living room.
“hi, nice to see you again, mrs. dellamonica. thanks for letting me come over.”
“it’s no problem. johnathan mentioned that this is your favorite movie, so there was no question. plus you’re always welcome anytime.” dells’ mom and dad settle into their respective recliners, which left one person missing: his four year old sister.
“ty, go get lily and bring her down here. i told her we would be ready soon, but she wanted to play with her barbies.” ty stands and walks down the hall to his sister’s room. he comes back moments later with the young girl trailing behind him.
“(y/n)!” she screams out, jumping onto the couch in the open spot next to you.
“hi lily! how are you?”
“good. are you watching the movie with us?”
“i am. johnathan invited me over.” she cheers a little then settles down beside you.
dells throws his arm around you a few minutes into the movie, making you shuffle a little bit closer to you. but, before you can move, lily cuddles up next to you, shocking you just a bit. she’s never been so affectionate with you, as much as she likes you.
dells notices you jump and looks down at you, right away seeing that his sister was snuggling into you. he smiles to himself and plays it off as if he didn’t see.
halfway through the film, she falls asleep. you tell johnathan and he can’t help but feel his heart soar at the sight. he ends up staring down at you two for a large portion of the film.
towards the end, you look up at him, only to find him still staring at you.
“what?” you wonder. he shakes his head, a small smile on his lips.
“nothing. just admiring you.”
zapata
- your friend dragged you to her boyfriend’s baseball game in the middle of a hot summer day. you two were hanging out at a cafe nearby when she remembered that she promised him she would be there. so, because she was your ride, you had to go with her.
the game was well underway by the time you got there, and as soon as you did, she ran right to the fence to see her boyfriend. they were currently batting, so he had the chance to come and say hi.
you, on the other hand, went to the other side of the field and began checking out the other team, dressed in red uniforms. you look from the pitcher, to the first baseman, to the shortstop, but your eyes eventually land on the second baseman. even from far away, you could tell that he was attractive.
your eyes seemed to linger on him, unable to look away from him. you noticed he had tattoos on the back of his arms, which only made him more attractive. as they run in after striking out the batter, he catches you staring and points right at you, waving a little.
every time the opposing team is on the field, you watch the second baseman, and he cheekily watches you when the time comes. your friend eventually leaves her boyfriend and finds you.
“so this is where you ran off to,” she says, stopping right next to you.
“yeah. i wasn’t interested in hearing you and your boyfriend be all lovey with one another,” you say. she chuckles and shakes her head, looking out to the field.
“you need a boyfriend, bad, (y/n).”
“tell me about it.”
when the game ends, you stay in the same spot as your friend goes to find her boyfriend once again. to your surprise, the guy you were staring at earlier appears in front of you, a smirk on his face.
“so, you come to baseball games and stare at the players often?” he wonders jokingly. you giggle and look down, hiding your heated cheeks from him.
“no. sorry if i made you feel uncomfortable, i just-”
“you didn’t, don’t worry,” he interrupts. “i was just surprised to see such a cute girl all alone.”
“my friend dragged me here. her boyfriend is on the other team, and i didn’t want to stand with them, being a third wheel, so i wandered off.”
“well, since you did stare at me the entire game,” he continues to mess with you, “would you like to go out sometime?” you’re taken aback and shocked that he asked you out right away.
“how do you know i’m not some creep?” you joke. he laughs loudly, his head tilting back.
“there’s always that possibility, but i doubt such a cute girl like you would be weird.”
“you’ll just have to find out on our date.”
Road Trip - John “Maz” Mazetti
a/n: i had this idea for another character but i haven’t written for him in a while, and i really wanted to write something for maz, so i just switched it :) also this is useless in posting bc my maz fics aren’t popular
•••
When your brother suggested a road trip to Oregon to the lake house that your family owns, you were excited and eager to go. But when he told you that his teammate Maz would be going, you weren’t as excited as you were.
See, you and Maz don’t get along very well.
There’s just something with both of your personalities that don’t mesh well, and you always end up bickering. Which seems weird because Maz is always a sweet guy with everyone he meets; you two even got along great when you first met, but over time, things went bad.
So the thought of being stuck in a car with him for two days, along with the week that you spend at the house, almost made you back out of the trip. But, Vinnie wanted you to come; Zapata and his girlfriend were tagging along, as well as Vinnie’s girlfriend, who you were good friends with.
The drive began, and of course, you and John were already fighting. It was stupid little things, like he wasn’t giving you enough room, you were playing your music too loud, you were shifting around too much. The others were already annoyed.
Draft Day - John “Maz” Mazetti
a/n: as i mentioned earlier this week, i wanted to write something for maz, but was always hesitant bc he’s based off of joe’s real brother. SO, i changed the last name to what it was supposed to be originally :) also this isn’t the fic that i had planned first. i started that one, then got this idea and finished it before lol
•••
Maz was sitting on the edge of his seat, his knee bobbing up and down, staring at the phone sitting on the table in front of him. The TV was also on, broadcasting what round the organization was on, what teams have picked, and who has been picked. You were standing in the kitchen, sipping a cup of coffee next to his dad.
“Who’s been scouting him?” You ask quietly, not wanting Maz to hear.
“The Padres and the Mets, mainly. Hopefully he’ll get something.”
“He will.” You were sure of it. He was an amazing player and he deserved to be drafted.
Once you finish your cup, you wash it out in the sink and go back to the living room where Maz is.
“Hear anything yet?” You wonder, taking a seat next to him and resting your head on his shoulder.
“No,” he sighs, rubbing his face. “It’s the twenty-second round, so there’s still time.”
“You’ll get a call soon, babe. Stay positive.” You sit there with him, talking quietly while watching the TV.
More time passes, and still, he receives nothing. You could tell he was slowly starting to lose hope, watching all these young guys get drafted and not become one of them.
“Thirtieth round,” he announces, closing his eyes and rubbing his hands over his face and through his hair.
“It’s okay, Johnny,” you whisper. He was starting to shake under your touch, which prompted you to begin rubbing up and down his back soothingly and playing with his hair.
You two sit like that for the rest of the time, until the 40th round begins. Maz was silent, keeping his eyes on his phone. And finally, the last name was announced, his phone not ringing once.
He doesn’t say anything, he simply turns the TV off and stays in the same position, with you leaning against his back.
“I’m so sorry, baby,” you mumble, not really knowing what to say in this situation. His dad was sitting opposite of you two, in the recliner. You meet his gaze and give him an apologetic look. He then stands and walks over to you two, patting Maz on the back.
“You don’t have to go to today’s game, you know,” Joey tells his son. Maz nods and sits up, hiding his face with his hands. Standing, you fall beside him and gaze up at your boyfriend.
“No, it’s fine. It’ll help get my anger out and get my mind off of things, hopefully.”
Maz’s shoulder’s slump as he walks upstairs to his room, leaving you and Joey in the silent room.
“You may want to go check on him,” Joey tells you,”I doubt he wants to see me right now.”
So, you follow Maz’s footsteps and walk upstairs, being cautious about how he was going to react.
“Maz?” You call out softly, stepping into his room. You notice he’s sitting on his bed, his back facing you. Right away, you can tell how upset he is and how hard he’s trying to keep his emotions in. You are about to take a seat next to him when he suddenly gets up and runs into our arms.
The force of him grabbing onto you makes you stumble back a little, but you’re quick to catch your balance. As soon as you steady yourself, you feel Maz shake a little, then begin sobbing out.
“Shhh, it’s alright,” you whisper, threading your fingers through his hair. This only makes him sob out louder and begin to fall to the ground. You lower both of you to the floor and sit with your back against his bed.
Maz sits cuddled up next to you, just getting all of his emotions out. You had never seen him so distraught and upset before, so you knew this was really affecting him.
“It’ll be okay, babe. Take deep breaths, alright?” He keeps his face nuzzled in your neck but he listens to you, trying to calm down, breathing in and out slowly. He finally stops sobbing, but his tears continue to silently fall down his cheeks.
“You doing better?” You ask a few minutes after he’s more calm.
“I think so,” he murmurs, his voice strained. Just to make sure, you stay put, caressing his back and comforting him as much as you could.
“Thank you,” Maz whispers while sitting up. His expression breaks your heart. His shoulders are dropped, his eyes bright red and puffy from crying, his cheeks tinted pink and stained with tears, his lips slightly plumper than usual, and the tip of his nose red. As adorable as he looked, you hated seeming him like this.
“I’m so sorry. You really deserved that, I honestly don’t understand why you weren’t.” He winces at the reminder and shakes his head.
“It’s fine. I’ll get over it. But just, just not today.” You press a kiss to his forehead and reach up to play with his hair.
“Do you still want to go to your game today?”
“Yeah. I don’t want to bail on the guys because I’m wallowing in self pity,” he chuckles. “Will you come watch?”
“Of course. You better get dressed or you’re gonna be late.”
John quickly gets dressed in his uniform as you pack his duffle bag. Before leaving his room, you take a moment to wipe his cheeks, making sure there was no evidence of him crying.
“Thank you,” he smiles as he caresses your cheek.
The drive to the field was awkward. Joey drove, Maz sat in the backseat with you, and no one said a word. You could feel the tension between him and his dad, so you didn’t want to say or do anything that would set one of them off.
When you arrive, Maz is quick to get out. You follow him with his bag, taking a hold of his hand while making your way to the dugout. And, just like the car ride, when you step foot in the dugout with all of his teammates, they all shut up and look towards your boyfriend.
“I’ll be in the bleachers, babe,” you say to him, giving him one last kiss on the cheek before taking your spot in the bleachers.
The game goes surprisingly well, aside from a couple outbursts from the team, especially Maz during his first at bat. They end up winning and advancing to the semi-finals, giving them the opportunity to take a trip to Maryland.
Joey ended up going out after the game, leaving you and Maz alone at his place for the night. The D-Backs invited him out for celebratory drinks, since he did hit the game-winning run, but he wasn’t up for it; all he wanted was to take a shower then cuddle with you.
“Thanks again for being there for me today,” Maz says once you’re both laying in his bed, cuddled up. You gaze up at him and smile softly.
“It’s no problem. I’ve never seen you like that, and it was honestly heartbreaking. I didn’t know what to do to make you feel better.”
“I think you did a pretty good job,” he grins. You snuggle closer to him and shove your face in his neck.
“I still don’t think so. You cried for a good ten minutes.” Maz suddenly sits up, making you face him, and takes your cheeks in his hands.
“Hey, listen to me. Despite what you think, you helped me so much. I cried because I’m a baby. But you were the one to calm me down, you were the one to stay by my side while I cried, and you were the one to make sure I was okay. I can’t thank you enough for being here for me on probably the worst day of my life.” A small smile appears on your lips in the middle of his speech.
“I love you, Johnny. I know you’re going to do great things later on. Maybe you could coach our kids’ tee-ball games, or even their baseball or softball games. Who knows?”
“That would be the dream,” he laughs, pulling you close to him. His hands wrap around your body, holding you close to him. His lips press against your forehead, and you can feel him grin through it. “And I love you too, baby.”
Soft Alphabet - John “Maz” Mazetti
a/n: no one asked for this, and i know it won’t get much notes, but oh well
