Eight Iowa wrestlers win Grand View Open titles

The Grand View Viking hosted their open tournament, and the host school crowned three of the tournaments ten champions, and had an addition four in the finals. Bringing home first place honors was Ryak Finch (125), Brandon Wright (141), and Gustavo Martinez (149). Grand View had runner-ups at 133 – Jacob Colon, 165 – Jimmie Schessler, 184 – Christian Mays, and 197 – Dalton Peterson.

John Meeks is a local singer-songwriter who 's a total badass and I've posted about him pretty extensively here and on PopMatters. In addition to his talents of singering and songwritering, he's also got mad skillz in the Making Awesome T-shirts department. I love trains cos they remind me of my dad and my favorite band, Old 97s. And my maiden-name initials are JM, so there's that extra added bonus. The cut and comfort factor of this shirt are through the roof, I might add. A solid effort on every level! I got it from his show at the Casbah, and it is always nice to be able to procure your wares directly from the person whose name is emblazoned on it. I don't get to do that with Marc Jacobs, now, do I?
