John didn't think that his kid would ever meet Sam and Bucky, let alone Sharon and Baron Zemo. After all, John made sure to never bring work home or take his kid to work.
But a school trip to New York that John was helping chaperone ended up in the usual New York super hero battle.
Sam and Bucky showed up as they chased down a terrorist that happened to be right behind John's gaggle of kids he was in charge of.
The terrorist had no clue John was there, let alone what he could do.
So when the guy decided to try and grab a kid as a hostage, John was not having it. Especially since it was John's kid.
Between Sam, Bucky, and John, the guy was quickly dismissed as John checks over his kid as Sam and Bucky look on confused.
'Uh, where'd you get the kid, John?' Bucky asks.
'I'm adopted,' said kid explains.
The introductions are quick as Sam and Bucky have to take off to deal with the bad guy of the week, but John's kid didn't seem phased at all that they'd just been held hostage. In fact they were excited and John felt a stroke coming on from the stress.
Once back home, Sam and Bucky show up to properly meet the kid and get the real story.
At first they're horrified, but then see how much the kid actually enjoys their life and how they call John 'Dad.'
Bucky is now adopted as 'Uncle Bucky' despite trying to say that it was okay that he wasn't.
John and Sam laugh because then Bucky is taken to be shown everything in the kid's room, but soon it's Sam's turn and he's given fan art of John and Sam fighting side by side. Sam can't bring himself to say anything other than 'Nice work on the shading.'
Some how Sharon has found her way to John's house in search of Bucky and Sam with Zemo in tow.
At first everyone is putting the kid behind them as Sharon explains he works for the US government now and so long as he does as he's told on missions he gets to stay free.
John still refuses to let his kid near Zemo.
For all of Zemo's ideals and theology, he gets it.
Then friends from across the street are coming over before CAPTAIN AMERICA is there and they wanna meet them too.
Before John can stop it, his house is full of young teens all talking and looking at Sam, Bucky, Sharon, and Zemo.
Zemo has a fangirl club forming simply over his fashion sense.
Sharon has a few boys wanting to know how she styles her hair.
Bucky is in a deep conversation about the wilderness survival with the one portly kid who always wears hunting camo.
Sam is taking selfies with kids.
John wishes he had a fire alarm to pull to make everyone leave.
His own kid is thankfully with Sam and not the girls surrounding Zemo. Though that was still worrisome.
'Hey Dad, can we get pizza?' His own kid asks, setting off the whole pack of them.
'I will pay,' Zemo spoke up and made John like him a bit more.
There's a sudden pizza party and John did not think having a kid would mean pop up parties like that.
Someone turned on the Wii and now John's kid and Zemo were playing 'Just Dance' as 'Rasputin' blares.
While Zemo does keep pace, John watches in awe as his kid whoops the Sokovian's ass in the game.
No one can beat them.
Everyone migrated to the back yard because Bucky was digging a fire pit with the camo kid as they discussed very seriously about how to set up camp when lost in the woods. Everyone is paying attention.
John wonders if he suddenly had a scout troop in his house.
That is confirmed when Sharon starts to teach the girls the best way to sneak attack someone and there's already been a boy thrown by one of the smaller girls.
Sam is teaching the directions and how to tell time with a stick and the sun.
Zemo is explaining how to make wine till John gives him a look and switches it to how to handle wildlife.
They're all in the middle of a suburb in Washington D.C. John is confused on what wilderness they are preparing for.
His own kid remedies that by suggesting a camping trip to a national park, 'just like me and Dad take.'
Okay, maybe when his kid says 'Dad' John gets soft and wants to do everything he can to do what he's asked.
It's some how organized in 15 minutes and the other adults have agreed to join them. Mostly Bucky because he's excited to show off his skills to his new friend.
Another 15 minutes later and Bucky has decided to adopt the kid as his own despite him already having parents.
Chaos is slowly descending and John grabs the reigns before all is lost as all the kids are begging their favorite adult to adopt them.
Information is exchanged and John will contact the parents once a plan is formed.
Bucky and 'Jan,' the portly kid who has finally said their name, have built a fire. It's the middle of summer and hot as hell, but they both look proud.
'Hey Dad?' John's kid said as everyone settles while s'mores were being made.
'Yeah, kiddo?'
'Are you upset that no one asked you to adopt them?'
