Are you looking forward for suicide squad extended cut that may have more jared leto joker appearance?
No, I’m not. I wasn’t a big fan of Harley and Joker in the theatrical cut in the first place.

I believe JL tone will be more similar to that of X MEN film where it has a balance of fun and seriousness to it. Don think JL will going to be like marvel tone
I hope so.
Ok I have no idea that that captain america is not that well received for the chinese audiences. Then what about superman since BvS don really earn that much BO from china either?? I honestly don buy into the claim of superman being too conflicted have create a disconnect for the audiences and general audience would prefer a straight cut clear distinct motivation character
There are a couple different aspects to this answer.
Firstly, people in China don’t grow up readingSuperman stories or dc comics at all. That means by 2016, there is a muchlarger fanbase for Captain AmericaAND Iron Man due to the onslaught of mcu movies since 2008.
Secondly, the translated subtitles in China are dismal. It’s fine for “allfun popcorn” since the plot is sooo straightforward in mcu movies, people canstill understand it without problem even when the translation for the Accordsare different in every scene or something. I didn’t watch cacw but you get theidea.
This is a completely different story for plot-heavy movies likeBvS, though. For comparison an example would be the sentence “we just have abad history with freaks dressed like clowns.” (comparing Superman to theJoker/Harley) was translated into “they/we are both clowns dressed in costumes”(meaning Superman and Batman) … yeah the translation is THAT BAD and prettymuch nothing Lex Luthor or Senator Finch said made sense if the audience onlyread the subtitles.
Thirdly, BvS is in theater for only about two weeks in China and noton holiday season. Our school year is much longer than how it is in the US and noschool was out during BvS theater release, resulting in many people wanting tobut unable to see it.
AND yeah, despite the above, BvS is still the ONLY comic bookmovie this year to reach its intended box office goal in China while cacw fellshort of it. The expectation for cacw is higher due to its larger established fanbaseand longer theatrical run, but it still didn’t reach it. BvS however, did reachits intended goal, with basically no hardcore fanbase and an extremely shortin-theater time and with dismal subtitle translations.
Lastly, you would be hard-pressed to find a dc fan that weren’toriginally a mcu/marvel fan in the Chinese comic-book fandom. (Before BvS, thedc fandom is extremely small and basically nonexistent, that is how large thefanbase gap originally was before 2016.) But as of now one only need tosee how large the Chinese DC fandom is to know exactly how many people ditchedmcu for dc after cacw and BvS.
PS I’ve personally known at least two unrelated people throwing all their Capcomics into the dumpster after cacw. and after my brother watched that movie,he told me “If there are any Cap fans before, there won’t be any after this.” andhe is not that wrong. Due to cultural differences and very differentexpectations for heroism, Chinese audiences are not so willing to forgive Steve’schoices or make excuses for them.
john1106 replied to your post “So I finally read the Spider Man Homecoming Comic Con footage...”
What so disgusting regarding about spider-man homecoming??
I didn’t say it was “disgusting.” I said a joke in the footage was gross. I linked it in my post.

I think most are having a problem with the execution particularly on why superman never said save my mother instead of saying MARTHA name. Those will be really hard to be argue with even if you do come up with the good point about it.
I suggest you read this: http://simplyredqueen.tumblr.com/post/145553173085/whoever-calls-their-mother-by-first-name-and-why.
It’s actually pretty simple to argue with.

I think TC is quite subtle whereas UC tried to be a bit more explanatory and more additional screentime for superman. Otherwise both are still the same movie
I agree completely. The UC makes some things more explicit, but those things were already in the TC, they were simply more subtle.
What do you think of THR reporting that WB studios is once again meddling with david ayer SS original cut similar to what studios have meddling with BvS thetarical cut? This could explain the criticisms of SS being a mess and having a editing and pacing issues
All I can say is this.
I hope it doesn’t happen again with Wonder Woman.
Hi. I’m just wondering what is your opinion on the fight choreography aspect between iron man vs captain america fight in civil war and batman vs superman fight?? Which one do you think is handled better in the context of their own respective movie and it's emotional core?
I’m not even the best person to ask this question because it’s really hard for me to get invested in fight scenes, period. I tune out very easily because it’s difficult to have the kind of emotional development in a fight that I’m here for. Like, if the characters just talked the whole time, I’d be perfectly content.
I enjoyed most of the choreography in CA:CW--it’s very entertaining and animated. It can be forgettable for me for the same reason; it’s easy to kind of remove the fights from their narrative contexts and just enjoy them for the choreography. For the coolness of them dropping trucks on each other, you know? BVS is more about the emotional beats in the midst of the fight. The fight itself isn’t built to be A Ton of Cool Moments (though the scene where Batman’s taking out the people guarding Martha and the Doomsday fight are filled with Cool Moments). Their choreography is pretty brutal and ... rough? I mean, it’s not a clean, seamless fight, usually. It’s like a barfight.
Anyway, me personally, I like when people stop fighting to talk about why they’re fighting rather than quipping. So the one fight scene I really hated was the airport fight in CA:CW because the tonal whiplash between the stakes of the fight and the way they talked about it was too extreme for me. (I also thought it was kind of lazy that they all just fought one-on-one, pretty much, and not in a way that called their different points-of-view to the forefront.)
(I’d also talk more about the emotional climax of CA:CW but I honestly can’t ... remember that fight at all.)
The choreography for both was good. Totally different approaches, but both fine.
