One random comic book hill that I am FULLY prepared to die on is that you should never, under any circumstances, make Superman’s S look less like an S.

“It’s supposed to be an alien symbol” it was an S long before writers worked in that explanation.

“It looks better this way” no it fucking doesn’t.

“The S is too silly” IT’S A COMIC BOOK.

I am fully convinced that modern media’s insistence on making superheroes more “practical” is yet another side effect of the unimaginative, tired cynicism that’s infected so much of the creative sphere. It’s like they’re embarrassed to be telling stories about superheroes.

If you’re telling stories about people who dress up in brightly colored outfits with superpowers, you don’t have time to be embarrassed about it. You have to do it with complete sincerity, because if YOU don’t embrace it, there’s absolutely no way your audience will. You don’t have the luxury of embarrassment.

Fr tho I've had this Arthur figure ever since the first Aquaman movie came out, he's been a proud member of my personal Justice League ever since. My only real gripe with Arthur is that the Trident of Atlan falls out of his hand WAY too easily 😫 Right out of the box, Orm's trident (or rather, Orvax's, yes I've been paying attention in class) fits in his hand so much better, and slides up and down very nicely for cool poses like these.

Anyway, that's all I have to show for now, I hope you like what you see, ormy! :) I know how much this tortured fish man means to you, and figured you'd get a kick out of this.

“Aquaman” Star Jason Momoa Wrote A 50-Page Treatment For “Lost Kingdom”

I’ve seen enough interviews with Jason over the years to know when he’s a little more nervous than usual. And considering that Stephen isn’t that great interviewing people he doesn’t know that well, I think this interview went much better than expected. 

Stephen seemed genuinely interested in meeting Jason, and I think it was kind of cool the way the interview starts out a little more awkward and formal in the beginning, and then by the second clip, Jason has clearly loosened up with him laughing and joking with Stephen like he does with a lot of folks.

I’m glad he had a pleasant experience on the show. I’m especially happy that he got to show that he’s more than just a cool dude with a wild side. He took the opportunity to talk about his desire to be a marine biologist when he was younger, and express why he loves writing and the creative process as well.

I think that kind of depth is rarely talked about among his fans, who sometimes focus more on his charisma and looks while paying very little attention to what lies beneath the surface.
