oh god kim I just thought about teen Sherlock giving himself hickeys with a vacuum cleaner so that he could get John's attention but one day he pulls it off too late and it's just one big, red, round circle and John comes up to him and asks him if his boyfriend hit him because if he did John's going to punch him and Sherlock goes beet red and mumbles something like "feel free to punch our vacuum cleaner" and John is like "oh" and kisses Sherlock

Sometimes when Sherlock feels lonely and the noise in his head gets to be too much he'll curl himself up into a ball on John's lap, gripping the fabric of John's jumpers and nuzzling his nose into John's chest, inhaling the comforting scent of John's laundry detergent and shower gel. John will simply hold Sherlock, one hand running through Sherlock's curls until the noise in his head quiets and he can finally sleep (◠ω◠✿)

John waking up to a naked Sherlock sprawled on his back, skin glowing in the moonlight and hair still tousled from sleep. Sherlock blinking up at John and John staring at Sherlock then whispering that he's so bloody gorgeous while Sherlock blushes and smiles shyly, reaching up and pulling John down into a sweet kiss (ﾉ◡‿◡)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧

John and Sherlock watching a scary movie and Sherlock holding on to John's arm so hard and hiding his face in John's shoulder whenever there's a really scary part (◠ω◠✿)

and god he knows he's fucked everything up and he shouldn't have moved so quickly with mary but he missed sherlock so much and he just didn't want to be alone anymore. and he knows that he should have called it off with mary once sherlock came back but he was so angry with sherlock and he just needed an ounce of normalcy in his life (or at least he thought he did). but he's so so miserable and married life is nothing like what he expected and he doesn't dare let himself think that maybe it's because he married the wrong person

or even worse what about the times that john woke from a dream where he and sherlock were together at baker street but also together at baker street, exchanging warm kisses and murmured 'I love you's in the early morning light, too wrapped up in each other to notice anything else. And john waking from that dream to the cold reality that he's not at baker street and the person next to him isn't sherlock because sherlock doesn't feel things that way and even if he does, it's too late now because john is married now and he should be in the throes of domestic bliss but he can't help but feel like he's made the biggest mistake of his life

Alright but also what about the nightmares that John kept having, even after Sherlock came back? Would he wake up panting and have to stop himself from calling out for Sherlock because he learned the hard way that calling out your dead 'best friend's name in bed isn't a great idea when in bed with a new girlfriend? Or would he wake up in tears, reaching over to the other side of the bed somehow hoping to feel wiry arms and bony shoulders, only to feel soft curves instead? And how guilty did he feel when he realized that his own fiancee wasn't the one he looked for when he woke up in the morning?
