Meet Eric Allard the real "Johnny Five" in Short Circuit, 1986. Allard was named "the most valuable player" on the film by the director. Johnny was controlled by a "telemetry suit" allowing the puppeteer's arm and hand movements to be transferred directly to the machine. I really wish I could see how they shot this movie using that amazing rig.
