Maressey - What Difference Does It Make
Celestia aims to reform the newly freed Discord with the help of the patient Fluttershy. However, things do not turn out as well as she planned. He quickly takes advantage of their friendship, tricking her to do things she wouldn't normally do, and poisoning her relationship with the bearers of the Elements of Harmony. As always it's originally a classic track by The Smiths
A massive thanks to Starbreeis for taking on the vocals of this track. i thought she did a wonderful job on this track and several others. She's fabulous! https://www.youtube.com/user/starbreeis
Music (guitars, bass, and drums) by Johnny Mare. Johnny helped kickoff this project by doing new guitar takes and music for many of our songs. His channel of Smiths covers is here. https://www.youtube.com/user/johnnymare

Topping up the record collection
As Braeburn and Big Mac head back to Appleloosa, Rarity and Applejack continue to squabble at the Apple ranch. Underneath their years of conflict lies a hidden longing that boils to the surface. Rarity is the first to let her feelings be known and Applejack soon reveals they are mutual. What they must soon deal with are the repercussions; will their families and friends understand their choice when the former antagonists become lovers? This is another song/chapter from the upcoming Rarijack album. It's also originally a Smiths classic track.
This song is about my favorite lesbian horse couple Lyra and Bon Bon. This song is sung from the pov of Lyra when she first approached Bon Bon romantically. It's easy to live alone in life and pessimistically but why... when there's so much more to life when it's shared with another? It is also a cover of the Smiths classic "Sheila Take a Bow".
Vocals for this track are by the amazing SylverLining who helped record these vocals awhile back when the Maressey project was being formed. Like everything she throws passion into her work and this is no exception! She's the proud author of Chameleon Moon an excellent novel and she's helped me with vocals many times on songs over the last 2 years. I appreciate her support and friendship in getting Maressey off the ground. Her channel and tumblr are here. https://www.youtube.com/user/SylverNuckelavee http://thesylverlining.tumblr.com/ All the instruments are done by Johnny Mare who helped truly launch this project too by working on the instrumentals for 10 of our songs. He's a long time Smiths fan, a guitarist, and not even a brony.. A huge thanks to his generosity in making this project happen. https://www.youtube.com/user/johnnymare I am Freewave who did the mixing, mastering, and organizing of this project. I'm here https://www.youtube.com/user/thefreewave The wonderful artwork is by Koviry http://koviry.deviantart.com/art/Bon-Bon-I-477824594 Thanks so much for it's use as it was the perfect fit. Downloads will be available when the free album eventually comes out. Ponified Lyrics (rewritten by Freewave): Is it wrong to want to live on your own? No, it's not wrong — but I must know How can someone so young Always seem to feel so bad? Bon Bon take a, Bon Bon take a bow Boot the grime of this world in the flank, dear And don't go home tonight Come out and find the Lyra you love and who loves you The one that you love and who loves you Is it wrong not to always be glad? No, it's not wrong — but I must add How can someone so young Always look so mad? Bon Bon take a, Bon Bon take a bow Boot the grime of this world in the flank, dear And don't go home tonight Come out and find the Lyra you love and who loves you The one that you love and who loves you Take my hoof and off we stride Oh, la la la la la-la-la-la You're a mare and so am I La la la la la-la-la-la La la la-la-la-la Take my hoof and off we stride Oh, la la la la la-la-la-la I'm a mare and who's got a thing for hands La la la-la-la-la La la la-la-la-la Bon Bon take a, Bon Bon take a bow La la la la la-la-la-la Throw your bag of candy onto the fire Come out and find the Lyra you love Come out and find the one that you love "Sheila Take a Bow" is a song by The Smiths. It was released as a single in April 1987, reaching No. 10 in the UK Singles Chart, their highest chart placing in their career. It was one of the band's many "between album" singles (the last of four in a row), not having natural home on any of the studio albums. It was, however, featured on the Louder Than Bombs compilation released later in the year. You can get that original here https://itunes.apple.com/us/artist/the-smiths/ Thanks to all those supporting the Maressey project and getting the word out. Tumblr is here: http://maressey.tumblr.com/ If you like it let us and EQD know. Another track next week. ;) Cheers
Maressey - Panic (Hang the Dj)
Dubstep invades Ponyville and many ponies have just had their fill of it and are furious by their sleepless nights and vibrating buildings. Applejack in particular says enough is enough and burns down the local danceclub right outside her farm early one morning. She accidentally sets off a musical backlash that affects all corners of Equestria with dj's fleeing for their lives as mobs of ponies protest against EDM. This track is of course a ponified version of The Smiths classic track. Enjoy.
Andante Skie did the great vocals for this track. Thanks for making a new glam rock anthem come alive. https://www.youtube.com/user/AndanteSkie The drums and bass are done by Johnny Mare who helped truly launch this project too by working on the instrumentals for many of our songs. https://www.youtube.com/user/johnnymare I am Freewave who did the guitar portions, part of the ending background vocal, mixing, mastering, and organizing of this project. I'm here https://www.youtube.com/user/thefreewave Luna Jax put together a quick outro group vocal with us so hats off for him for adding the mob vocal at the end! https://www.youtube.com/user/lunajaxmusic Art credit goes to by mon-petit-hae http://mon-petit-hae.tumblr.com/post/79382515351/gotta-come-prepared-sfw-version Loved the Applejack in front of a blazing inferno art they did and it fits well. Ponified Lyrics: Panic on the streets of Los Pegasus Panic on the streets of Canterlot I wonder to myself Could life ever be sane again On the Ponyville side-streets that you slip down I wonder to myself Clouds may rise up to Cloudsadale But Pinkie Pie, you're not safe here So you run down To the safety of your town Because there's Panic on the streets of Fillydelphia Baltimare, Trottingham, and Manehatten I wonder to myself Burn down the Disco Hang the blessed DJ Because the dubstep that they constantly play IT SAYS NOTHING TO ME ABOUT MY LIFE Hang your blessed D.J.'s Because the music they constantly play The Everfree Radio that you complain about the Equestrian Daily you can't live without Hang the DJ., Hang the DJ., Hang the DJ.,etc **No dj's were harmed in the making of this song.*** Don't take its msg so seriously ;) Although sometimes one event can set off a vicious chain reaction. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disco#Backlash_and_decline "Panic" is a song by the British indie band The Smiths. The song was released by Rough Trade Records as a single in 1986, reaching number 11 in the UK Chart. It was later released on the compilation albums The World Won't Listen and Louder Than Bombs. You can get that original here https://itunes.apple.com/us/artist/the-smiths/ Thanks to all those supporting the Maressey project and getting the word out. Tumblr is here: http://maressey.tumblr.com/ A lot of brand new news about the project is there. If you like the song let us and EQD know. Another track hopefully next week. ;) Cheers
Trixie visits Ponyville again and just like last time her lack of tact to her fellow unicorn kin create a new wave of problems. Feel sympathy for Trixie as she's cursed with being a bigmouth and well aware of it. This song is also a ponified cover of The Smiths classic.
abzde: "So Johnny Mare isn't a brony? Is Mare his real name or just his stage name? In either case that's a funny coincidence. Also Faux Synder has such a beautiful voice it goes so well with this song. Love this one freewave!"
Thanks! Yep he isn’t a brony and when Morte and I were shopping the idea of getting this project and looking for a Smiths cover musician involved (there’s a lot of them) his name was the one who really popped out due to the irony. He was also well acquainted with their catalog, did great covers, and already had a sizeable following. What was even better was he agreed to take part knowing the theme and we moved from the idea of singing over his ytube covers to him making new recordings and stems for 10 of the songs to make them even better. I’m serious if he hadn’t done a lot of the groundwork at the onset this project wouldn’t have gotten started to also making a lot of the instrumentals for other songs. We’ve actually got about 20+ wips currently and 20+ more possible songs to do if we want to take it that far.

Assuming it's his stage name :P
