trying to figure out hiromi's pokemon team.

I'd imagine her story is sort of a side story among the gang's stories, but for the purpose of this post, I'll treat her like an MC.

If she took in a baby charmander, who was left behind. And she's from the kanto region. Her family probably specializes in looking after grass type pokemons? They aren't specialists or anything. Like her Mom had a Breloom. They also have a Bellossom owned by her father.

They owned a greenhouse.

Then comes along Charmander, who accidentally burnt down a part of the green house, so she and her family had to put it out, and Hiromi was upset because she was looking forward to the tomatoes she helped grow. Because Charmander was very sorry. Hiromi felt sorry for her. But she saw how her parents were kind.

And Hiromi would use the light from the fire of her tail to read stories at night. So this incident deeply impacted her, she kind of focuses on the less destructive aspect of pokemons?

And that's how they bonded.

Flashforward when she's swept up with her Charizard into travelling with Takao and the gang after some Team Rocket shenanigans. Of the whole gang, Hiromi's not the type to use Charizard to battle. And all of them want to become Champions or something? She's just Takao's friend, trying to find her place in this world.

Her Charizard is less agressive and more social with all the younger pokemons, but Kai kind of encourages her combative spirit.

To be honest, Hiromi and Kai have a contentious relationship, because he usually picks the fire types, since he wants to create a fire gym. At this point, he's not quite part of the team.

So she gets a vulpix he was hunting, accidentally, when she helps the vulpix out of a sticky situation. The vulpix starts to follow her around. So Hiromi takes her in as her first caught pokemon. And that's when Kai picks on her. He tells Hiromi she's wasting her potential.

The gang actually agree, because said sticky situation might have been difficult. But Charizard did so good!

Charizard is encouraged by the gang to learn how to battle, and she helps train some of their pokemon. And Hiromi wondered if Charizard's nature was inhibited by her home environment.

So here comes champion Johnny and the Majestics, and he doesn't treat his pokemons well when he loses. And the Majestics aren't friends but a group of kids who own the gym owned by their forefathers. And he has a Charizard too.

And he makes Hiromi so angry with the way he talked about how she raised her Charizard. And she challenges him instead of Kai, who's just like confused pikachu face.

And her Charizard wins the battle due to her bond of trust. While Johnny's Charizard, who has to win to gain his owner's approval, is overcome by their teamwork. And he's also difficult for Johnny and the Majestics to manage.

And the Olivier is like if Hiromi really tries, she'd be a very strong champion. Johnny kind of gets angry at his Charizard. Hiromi gets in the way, and she tells him he's being too harsh!

And he just sends the Charizard their way, and the Bladebreakers end up leaving with a new gym badge and a new Charizard not owned by anyone, except for Hiromi and her Charizard.

And the atmosphere's tense as Max is trying to calm him down. Kenny's worried for their supplies. Kai tells her that he's not going to listen to her. Takao is conflicted. And no one knows what to do with Johnny's abandoned Charizard, who is on guard and will attack all thier pokemons.

So Hiromi tells them she'll leave the camp for a bit with the two of them. And Rei says that's too dangerous. Johnny's Charizard was probably pursued. They should give it up to a poke-training centre.

But Hiromi' defending the Charizard from Kai's Garchomp left a deep impression on the gang, so for the remainder of the time they travel, she kind of slowly helps the Charizard by helping him work through his abandonment issues apart from the others.

She creates a bit of space between them so he doesn't harm the others.

Her own Charizard is kinda like, "This guy is so iffy and anoying. But Hiromi wants you around, but if you threaten to hurt Hiromi, I'll tail-swipe ya to the curb!!" And she lets him create a fire for cooking food. Or the three of them fly over the area, and the two of them help Hiromi fight off some team rocket member or something coming to capture him.

Before the gang shows up to put out the fires.

But they hear what happened, and the gang starts to warm up to him.

Takao's the next one who comes by to help him out. Then Max and Rei.

Soon the gang takes over by helping create an environment where he's more accepted. He helps the gang out in sticky situations, where Hiromi's more inexperienced (against possibly Demolition boys?)

The gang run into Giancarlo again. And Giancarlo is shocked at Charizard's temperament, and he declares HIromi would be a great trainer! Or something. And he also says that he talked to Johnny, and Johnny's sorry he pushed Charizard away.

And Kai tells Giancarlo that Hiromi should face Johnny's pokemons with Johnny's own Charizard, and if they win, Johnny needs to admit that he's wrong. And the Majestics need to learn how to treat their pokemon better. And Hiromi's like, ah, no, I'm not trained for battle. It was hard enough for me.

So Kai's the last one to acknowledge Charizard by offering to be his battle partner and train him for Johnny's pokemons properly especially his Salamence, which works through the last of his issues.

And that's how Kai properly becomes part of the gang, and they beat all of Johnny's pokemons. And the Bladebreakers leave a deep impression on the Majestics after their respective battles, and become their friends?

And Johnny cries as his Charizard decides to finally come back after Hiromi tells him, "He was looking for you!"

Alternatively Kai keeps him, or Johnny takes him back. Or heck, maybe hiromi owns both charizards till she finds a future suitable owner hahahahah

And Olivier gifts Hiromi an egg for all her patience. And Hiromi is just happy to help really. And I don't know who's in the egg lol. But maybe the vulpix likes the egg.

But that'd be a fun story for another day.

Kai Hiwatari

Headcanons:

Kai doesn’t do loud jealousy — it’s all in the eyes. A single cold glare from across the room can shut someone down instantly.

If someone flirts with his partner, he’ll quietly position himself between them without a word, making it clear they’re taken.

He hides his jealousy under a calm exterior, but later in private he might give possessive kisses or pull you closer than usual.

Scene: You’re laughing with another blader after a match, and Kai’s standing a few feet away, arms crossed. His expression doesn’t change, but he drifts over, standing at your side so close your shoulders brush. He leans down just enough for his voice to be for you alone. "You’re very chatty today…" His gaze flicks to the other blader, and the air drops a few degrees. The conversation dies quickly. Later, as you leave, his hand settles firmly at the small of your back. "I like it better when you’re talking to me."

Tyson Granger

Headcanons:

Tyson is obvious when jealous — pouting, crossing his arms, making over-the-top comments.

He will try to one-up whoever’s getting your attention, often in clumsy or ridiculous ways.

He’s clingier than usual after, wanting to remind you how much fun he is.

Scene: You’re watching a practice match and cheering loudly for someone else. Tyson shuffles over, dramatically slumping next to you. "Guess I’m chopped liver now," he mutters, then suddenly starts loudly talking about his latest tournament win — despite no one asking. When the other blader walks off, Tyson grins smugly and slings an arm around you. "See? I’m still the coolest, right?"

Ray Kon

Headcanons:

Ray’s jealousy is quiet and polite on the surface, but he definitely notices everything.

He uses subtle physical contact to signal you’re together — a hand on your shoulder, a brush of fingers.

If it really gets to him, he’ll later admit it honestly rather than letting it fester.

Scene: At a festival, a vendor hands you a free treat “because you’re so cute.” Ray chuckles politely, but his hand finds yours and squeezes. "Guess I should keep a closer eye on you." Later, while you’re walking back, he glances over with a small smile. "I know it was harmless… but you’re mine, and I like it that way."

Max tries to be happy-go-lucky, but when jealous he gets unusually quiet.

He’ll try to subtly join conversations where someone’s flirting with you, redirecting attention.

He tends to overcompensate later with extra sweetness and affection.

Scene: During a tournament break, a blader from another team keeps leaning close while talking to you. Max appears out of nowhere, holding two drinks. "Hey! I brought your favorite — figured you might need it after all that talking." He stays right by your side until the other person drifts away, then flashes you his usual sunny grin. "What? I’m just being a good boyfriend."

Majestics

Robert Jürgens

Headcanons:

Robert’s jealousy is icy and formal — he’ll address the other person with curt, cutting remarks.

He has a regal air that can make rivals feel instantly unwelcome.

His possessiveness comes through in old-fashioned gestures — offering his arm, kissing your hand.

Physical — will throw an arm around you in front of the other person without hesitation.

Scene: Someone’s been chatting you up at the edge of the practice field. Johnny storms over, eyebrow raised. "And who exactly do you think you’re charming?" Before they can answer, his arm is slung over your shoulders, pulling you against him. "Yeah, didn’t think so." You can feel the heat radiating off him, but his smirk says he’s enjoying shutting it down.
