Deputy Morgan Malone + 7 Deadly Sins: Envy
Morgan doesn't envy other people as a general rule. She spent too long pushing to try to be herself, openly - she knows what you have is generally a result of your own decisions, your own choices, and she values her own decisions and choices. She doesn't want to be anyone else, or have what they have instead of what she has - she values her life because it's hers, not someone else's.
But - she does want to experience a lot of life, and she does like a lot of things. And there have been times when, due to circumstance, she's had to choose between two things she really wanted. She got Johnny X, her dog, pretty soon after graduating college - he's a purebred dog of a fairly uncommon breed in America. She couldn't afford to get him and buy her own horse, which she really wanted. There's a big muscle car scene in Montana - Morgan loves them, and would love to own one. But she needs a truck, living in Montana, and a big one to haul Johnny around in. She couldn't afford both.
She doesn't regret her choices and wouldn't change them, but sometimes when she sees other people with those things she wants and currently can't have, she'll think "I wish I had -"
(And sometimes she sees people get close to other people seemingly so easily, so many friends, in relationships, and she wishes, she wishes, she could do that. She knows she could if she wanted to, if she really put the effort in - and she knows she's made her own choices and has her own reasons, and everybody's different, and those friendships aren't always what they're cracked up to be, and etc, etc. But sometimes, sometimes, she does look at people and think "I don't know how they do that"-)

Kenickie were a British indie rock band founded in 1994 in Sunderland and disbanded in 1998. They released two albums and a bunch of singles, still absolutely adorable, poppy, indie, punky and enjoyable to these days.

Morgan looked around and rented out a nice house in Holland Valley before moving to Hope County to start her new job as a Deputy Sheriff. And then she didn’t really get a lot of time to unpack her stuff before the Reaping started...but even if she had, a lot of it probably wouldn’t have gotten unpacked for a while. Morgan likes her space, but she’s not exactly house-proud. So she’d have gotten the necessary stuff out that wasn’t already part of the house furnishings - and all of Johnny’s stuff, of course - and then just sort of gotten around to the rest when she wanted it, or was in the mood to clear a few of the boxes. Quick and cheerful is mostly Morgan’s decorating style - pictures and art prints stuck up on the walls, little ornaments and knick-knacks she likes, and random bits and pieces she takes home from walks (crow feathers are a particular favourite). And, of course, her books.

I figured she was due another pre-Reaping look, so here she is just enjoying a happy day out with her dog Johnny. She seems to have disturbed a crowd of rooks though. Hope that’s not a sign of things to come.
