Many people know this about you just from how you look, but they never want to judge. They see you even if you have three layers of clothes on. The look in your eyes, your high cheekbones, and your prominent collarbone. They see how sunken in your eyes look, and they immediately judge you for the decisions you made in life.
Feel Better
Morgan x Reid

“Hey, kid, how you feelin’?” Derek peeked into Spencer’s room, smiling a bit when he saw Spence all wrapped up under a mountain of blankets. His head poked out when he heard Derek, and his brown curls bounced from the movement.
Spencer groaned, and in a raspy voice said “Not good. I wish I could just stay in this bed forever.” The morning light was floating in through the windows, illuminating the floor strewn with books and clothes. Spencer grunted as he pulled yet another book out from under his head and tossed it onto the floor.
“I wish you could too, but you know we’re probably gonna have to go to work tomorrow.” Derek started walking towards the bed.
“No!” Spencer coughed. “Stay back! Studies have shown that respiratory droplets can travel up to six feet. I don’t want to get you sick.”
“It’s okay, don’t worry your pretty little head. I’ve got a great immune system, remember? And…” Derek disappeared behind the door for a second before returning. “I brought you soup!”
Spencer paused. “Okay, bring me the soup, please.”
Derek chuckled. “Come on, sit up, I’ll feed it to you.”
Morgan and Reid had been hanging out a lot lately, and although they hadn’t put any labels on anything, they were basically dating. The entire team knew it, too. They exchanged knowing glances every time Derek left the room exactly 75 seconds after Spencer did, and tried to stifle their laughter every time the two came back wearing each others shirts. Somehow, neither of them had noticed what the team thought. Derek didn’t even notice when Emily took a not-so-sneaky pic of Spencer asleep on his shoulder during a jet ride home.
Derek knelt down by the bed and placed the bowl on Spencer’s lap. He spooned soup into his mouth with one hand and put his other behind Spencer’s heard for support (and so that he could run his hand through his perfectly messy brown locks).
“Did you know,” Spencer began as Derek brought the spoon up to his mouth. Derek sighed and put the spoon back in the bowl. “There was a Roman philosopher named Pliny who thought that kissing a mouse would cure your cold.”
“Hm, I didn’t know that. Would you like me to find a mouse for you?” Derek said sarcastically.
“No, I was just saying.” Spencer giggled and took another sip of soup.
“Speaking of cures, I brought a tangerine for you.” Derek pulled one out of his pocket and set it on Spencer’s nightable. “Get that vitamin C.”
“You kept a tangerine in your pocket? How long has it been in there?” Spencer laughed.
Derek chucked the tangerine at him. “Just eat it, it’s still good!” Derek couldn’t contain his smile as Spencer rolled the tangerine over in his hands, struggling to peel it.
“My nails are too short.” Spencer pouted. He held the tangerine back out to Derek with a hopeful smile.
“Come on, you can’t even peel a tangerine?” Derek shook his head and chuckled.
“I’m sick.” Spencer laid back against his pillows and shut his eyes.
Derek took the tangerine from him and, once peeled, set it on top of Reid’s forehead and put the almost empty bowl of soup down on the nightable.
“Thank you.” Spencer mumbled before taking the tangerine and eating a slice.
Derek couldn’t remember the last time he felt so content. Spencer was just the purest person he had ever met and every moment spent around him felt like a trip to a world where he didn’t have a single worry. And even though he’d pretend to be annoyed by Spencer’s facts, he really did like them. He liked that he learned something new every time he saw him, and he definitely loved seeing Spencer so excited about such random things.
“Alright, I’ve gotta get going now.” Derek kissed him on the forehead and stood up. “I’ll see you tomorrow at work.”
“Thanks for helping me today, Morgan.” Spencer looked up at him. “Love you.” He whispered.
“I love you too. Feel better, pretty boy.”

Muzzled - Febuwhump Day 3
He tapped his fingers on the table.
Maybe this is the time she’d listen. Maybe this is the time she’d really hear him - it had been so long, she’d seen so much, he must have gotten through to her in some ways - she might have thought about it, after she left him -
The door opened and Jacob’s great bulk filled the frame. He pulled her through by the arm -
Oh.
Joseph looked at Jacob, and it was probably only because he knew his brother so well that he detected the slight smirk on his face.
He looked back at Morgan - green eyes darting everywhere over that - cover. Looking angry and wary, like she always did in a room with him. She looked away, deliberately, when he met her eyes.
He looked back at Jacob.
“She barely says anything as it is,” he said.
Jacob smirked a little more fully.
“She’s dangerous, Joseph,” he said - trying to sound serious. And he could see, as his brother said it, it became less of a joke.
Jacob looked back at her.
“Especially with my training. You should see what she did to her last cellmate.”
Morgan looked away - stiff, still. Like she did. Refusing to ask for help. Mercy.
She was wavering oddly - trying to lean away from Jacob, but also having to steady herself against his grip on her arm, hands tied behind her.
She was dangerous.
But not that dangerous.
“Take it off,” he said to Jacob tiredly.
Jacob gave him a look - half-amused, half-bitter - and pulled her over. She flinched away from his hands on the leather - in her hair.
There wasn’t a hint of gratitude in her eyes.

Panic - Febuwhump Day 8
Flames. Flames licking all around her, heat. The smell of gasoline.
The helicopter had crashed, and it was burning, and there was something tight, tight, around her waist.
All she could see was fire everywhere, and the smell of hot metal, and the heat like a constant burning wind blowing over her face.
She looked up, and there they were. Yellow eyes – sunglasses. Looking down at her. He was smiling.
He leaned down and pushed her arms against the back of the seat.
“No-one is coming to save you,” he said, clear over the crackling, roaring flames.
She tried to struggle – tried to reach her belt. She couldn’t breathe, the heat and the smoke. He was holding her arms, grabbing them as she moved them, and she couldn’t reach her belt, couldn’t reach the clasp. It dug into her stomach like a gut punch. He was still smiling.
The flames were everywhere, she couldn’t even see a way out, see past them, and she reached her belt, but she couldn’t get it open, couldn’t get it open –
“Morgan! Morgan!”
It was dark and she could move her head, but someone was holding her arms. She fought, thrashed – but they wouldn’t let go.
“Morgan honey, it’s okay!”
It was cold.
It was cold and she stopped. There was a bright light – but it was a torch. And it was Adelaide’s voice.
It was cold and still.
She breathed. Breathed. Pulled her arms out of Adelaide’s grip.
Adelaide let her.
Dark and cold and quiet in the bunker, except for the sounds of her breathing.
She saw Adelaide’s face, her golden hair, in the shaft of torchlight. Watching her, carefully.
Morgan felt her face screw up.
She turned over, towards the wall, away from the light. She never thought she’d be ashamed of something like this – but here she was.
And she really ought to be used to it, by now.
She raised her hand and put it to her head.
Adelaide just sat on the bunk.
“It’s okay, honey,” she said. “It’s alright.”

Secrets Revealed - Febuwhump Day 6
“…I mean, it’s not like you’re in love with him, is it?”
Morgan was looking away, and she kept looking away. But that was worse, wasn’t it?
She looked at Adelaide, and got to see the moment her eyes hardened, and her face fell.
She looked away again.
“Morgan…”
She balled her hands up into fists.
“This month has been – really rough,” she said. “I don’t know what I’m feeling right now.”
She waited. Listening. Heart pounding.
Adelaide accepted a lot of things – a lot of things most people Morgan knew right now wouldn’t accept. She even encouraged some of it.
But this –
This she wouldn’t accept.
‘Fuck, then kill’
It’s not like Morgan meant to – it’s not like it was her fault. And it wasn’t a fair question to ask – she didn’t know what she was feeling these days. And it’s not like she was gonna let it – affect anything…
She listened.
Adelaide took a deep breath.
She didn’t say anything.
