Can I just say it. I fucking HATE buttermilk biscuits. I do not get the hype at all. Even well-made ones are so fucking dry that they soak up every iota of spit in your mouth and then while you're chewing they turn into a stupid paste that gets stuck in your throat and no amount of water or gravy or butter or jelly or ANYTHING makes this better. I know I'm from the southern US and we're supposed to enjoy this shit but if I never ate a single buttermilk biscuit again I would (a) probably not even fucking notice and (b) if I did notice, I would be THANKFUL. They are completely useless as a food and their existence is morally incorrect. I may get hate for this. But I don't care. You can all have fun eating your glue biscuits. Just keep me out of it.

So much of the advice on dealing with fraught family relationships is either like "oooughh just set very clear boundaries and if they break them go no contact!!" or "it's your FAMILY.,,,,DON'T rock the boat just believe in love <333" like ok guys I feel like there is perhaps some unmentioned middle ground we are not discussing
