I’m thinking about the whole “beautiful eyes” bit in Y3 and I’m wondering…when and how would Shintaro and Joji even be talking to each other? Wouldn’t it be kind of awkward once one became a hitman and the other had to leave the country to work on the right side of the law? I’m imagining a phone call. “Hey bro, happy birthday.” “Thanks. So uh…how’s your murdering going?” “It’s good. I killed this guy named Kiryu and his wife. Their son has the most beautiful eyes.” “Right…”

dunno why people didnt like him, but i've always missed him after completing yakuza 3. joji was never again mentioned throughout the series and it hurts me, but its pretty much how he is as a character - vanishing like any top CIA agent.
