A wish upon a star
Winter 1889
"I'm telling you, it's gonna happen."
Jocie shook her had amusedly at his excited tone. "You're such a flapdoodle."
"And yet you love me." Leo grinned, his eyes still fixed on the sky, waiting. After a few minutes, he made an exited noise and pointed up. "There they are!" Jocie looked up as well.
Dozens of shooting stars whized over the night sky. Jocie gasped and stepped closer to her friend. "I'll admit, this is beautiful", she said softly. Leo took her hand in response.
"So, what do you wish for?", he asked softly. Jocie giggled. "You know I can't tell you that." "So we believe in these nonsense laws muggles made up about magic now, do we?", Leo teased.
"I'm not taking risks."
Leo nodded thoughtfully. "Me neither."
So they both continued to look up at the beautiful display of nature, quietely wishing for the exact same thing.
@creampuffcloudsdreaming 💕 I was struck by surprise inspiration. Also tagging @amus2110 because you're their co-parent anyway 🤭
